  The location was excellent for our needs. Close to downtown. The hotel was clean well laid out. Breakfast was included and saved us time and extra expense. Breakfast was cereal, coffee, juice and muffins/pastries. It has a nice pool and hot tub. Clean. Friendly staff. Parking.   Stayed for one night as we were visiting ucsb. Jon checked us in and helpful and friendly in answering the few questions we had about the motel and surrounding area. The folks at the front desk the next day were also very courteous and friendly. Breakfast had a lot of choices and was included in the room price.   I did not stay myself, rather our friends from Germany. Since it was cool they didn't use the pool, even though pools are very important for Europeans -- so no comment about that. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable and clean.   A pleasant surprise. We have been coming to Santa Barbara for at least thirty years, and I know we have either stayed at Cabrillo Inn, or at least driven by in the past. So I know it is not a brand new hotel/motel. Regardless, the Inn was extremely well maintained, and the room and amenities were spotless.
