  the position is not central but convenient (near to the highway but not too near). the motel is quiet, clean, have a nice small swimming pool and a jacuzzi. breakfast is included and consists in a good variety of cereals, pastries, fresh waffles and beverages. the rooms are clean and the bathroom is quiet good for a motel. in the room there is a m... what people say » ini fridge, the hairdrier and some facilities to have a coffee. there are few places to eat just 3 mins from the motel (a sushi place and a mc donald) - The room is clean and towels are folded stylishly. Breakfast was great, it included chocolate muffin, blueberry muffin, waffles, 4 kinds of cereal, pastries, coffee/juice, bread, bagel. The room itself is also very comfortable. I think the room is pretty sound-proof. Bed and blankets are also comfortable and clean. Its worth the money and the stay was great! Would come back again if I visit Monterey. The location is very closed to Carmel, 17 mile drive.

  I stayed during the Red Bull Motogp Grand Prix, the location suited me fine as it was just minutes away from the track. The room was adequate and clean, the front desk staff was very helpful. The breakfast area was small however you can take the meal to your room. The AC in the room worked like a charm and cooled the room down real quickly. Motel is located in a relatively quiet area of Monterey, no problems getting in or out, checking in and out was a cinch. The owners are also very friendly people.

It didn't come stocked with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. but you could come prepared & bring your own. Fridge was a good size; microwave a plus! Also nice to have a coffee machine in the room even though you can get some in the morning from the free breakfast, which is always nice. I will buy one of those waffle irons some day! The pool is a great temperature.

The staffs were very friendly and helpful. I am so glad that he strongly suggested me to visit " Big Surf" besides "17 miles". I also made the reservation for the wrong night and he did not charge me to change it- and he lowered the price. The room was clean and exactly what was expected.

Also it is very conveniently located right off the Highway 1, and is just outside of Monterey so the beach is primarily for hotel guests!

  The price in August was $69/night for 2 queen beds, which is great for the area. The room was clean with new tv, linens and furnishings -- even new windows, and it also included a microwave, refrigerator and small coffee pot. We were there for 5 days, and all of the other guests I spoke with were either from other parts of the U.S. or Canada - Very Comfortable bed with crisp fresh linens, friendly owners that were very accomodating with my midnight arrival, spotless room, microwave, mini frig, flat screen tv w/ cable channels, coffee & coffee pot, good size bathroom with plump towels and toiletries, great price, Denny's & pizza next door, and convenient to many places to shop and the close to the beach. $42 in late September for a single queen bed.   Honestly, the value was great and it served it's purpose. - Oakhurst is a very good location from which to explore the southern part of Yosemite and Bass lake country. The hotel is conveniently located and fair in all respects, no surprises in either direction.
