The price in August was $69/night for 2 queen beds, which is great for the area. The room was clean with new tv, linens and furnishings -- even new windows, and it also included a microwave, refrigerator and small coffee pot. It did not include a hair dryer, but I was able to get one from the manager. Contrary to other reviewers, I saw no evidence of live-in or long-term guests. We were there for 5 days, and all of the other guests I spoke with were either from other parts of the U.S. or Canada.
all reviews » Very Comfortable bed with crisp fresh linens, friendly owners that were very accomodating with my midnight arrival, spotless room, microwave, mini frig, flat screen tv w/ cable channels, coffee & coffee pot, good size bathroom with plump towels and toiletries, great price, Denny's & pizza next door, and convenient to many places to shop and the close to the beach. $42 in late September for a single queen bed. Lots of high end cars in the parking lot. Lots of happy smiling people in the . I loved the location of this motel. It's right across the fairgrounds which made it easy to walk to. The staff was excellent, they always tried to meet our needs. Was under new renovation and the place looked fabulous and clean. There working on a BBQ deck which should be coming soon!!. good value for money, would definitely stay again if needed. Least expensive place I could find in Monterey. Clean, easy, microwave, refrigerator. Very clean and affordable. The design of the rooms. Clean comfortable room. Grace is the sweetest!. Location and price. Price. price. The most important thing to me is how clean the shower and linens are and they were Very Clean and comfortable, we have stayed here 3 times now and we have been happy everytime. Location, ease of parking and room access. The shopping and places to eat nearby. Good access to the freeway. the motel was nice and quiet . it was less then 5 minutes to cannery row or the wharf. staff very helpful. Price seemed fair for being at the beach. It was clean, nice bed. Value for money. It was available and convenient to my destination. It was Quiet and close to fairgrounds. nothing. Everything was great except for the worst motel I have ever stayed in my 52 years on this earth! We would have been happier staying under a bridge sleeping on the dirt! This hotel was a nightmare!. The walking distance to dennys,other than that .nothing. It had a bed!!!. All rooms are now non-smoking. The Karaoke bar across the street can get a bit loud until 2:00 a.m. or so. lady at the reception didn't speak very good English, but it was ok in the end. Bathroom door handle was broken and would not latch, nevermind lock. The pillows. Nothing. In the smaller room some of the fixtures were out including a light bulb and the sink drain. Price was highly inflated. Minor problem -- had to leave early before office opened and asked for detailed statement to be mailed to my home (not just the credit card receipt) and have not yet received it -- maybe today -- 3rd day since stay. Could of been cleaner. No blow dryer in the room. Bathroom was too small, especially the sink and counter tops. Room one too small for more than one person. The pillows were not very plump. broken window in the room. Couldn't plug in the microwave or coffee maker because of the location to plug. Fan in restroom did not work. There was only one place to eat (Denny's) within miles. Next available place was McDonalds. There is a Strip Club directly across the street from this hotel. Didn't have any issues but wasnt' aware of it prior to booking. only 1 light worked, 2 others did not, toilet paper holder was broken. Just one room key, no breakfast, there is no shelf in the shower. I realize my visit to Monterey was during 'car week' so prices can be at a premium. the rooms were very basic. I really missed the room not having something as simple as an iron. the freezer area of the fridge was frozen solid. Way, way over priced for what I got. It was filthy! It looked like they never checked the room service in a year. The towels smelled like they had been in the smoke house down the street. The electrical looked like a fire hazard. They barely gave us any linens except for the small rags. the room is tiny no air conditioning bathroom is very small totally impractical. Everything. We would have been treated better in jail and probably safer and had a cleaner place to stay! Will you please call me if you can? I have taken numerous pictures of this horrible room. Also found a used needle left in the bathroom left by some sort of junkie!. It was terrible,we got I the room and the pillow cases were dirty, we took them to the office her reply was I need to talk to the housekeepers, hair in the tub,internet, tv didn't work,baseboards had holes,carpet dirty.for a 140.00 a night it was so bad. I don't recommend this hotel to my dog.never again,dont waste your money please.i work for a hotel for 22 years and if we cleaned a room like that we would be fired .im sorry but this is the truth. The whole thing. But the bed!!!!!.
