My wife and 3 kids spent one night to attend a b-day party at Del Monte beach. Couldn't have been more pleased with the price which allowed 4 guests. They said everything was top notch. While viewing the area on google maps, we a noticed a portion of the recreation trail is right next to the hotel. Her and I are planning to stay in Monterey in the near future and the La Quinta is where we will book our room.
all reviews » Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. I forgot an iPhone charger after checkout. The front desk called when found by the cleaning staff and I was able to pick it up before leaving town. We were upgraded to a King room overlooking the water pool which was great. Motel a little tired but comfortable. Good information from Reception staff and good breakfast. staff very helpful, very clean, nice touch to have newspapers available in the morning in the breakfast area and to have the weather forecast posted by the elevator. Everything was super clean and the staff was very good. The young man was extremely friendly and helpful. The staff were always friendly and attentive. Missed a swimming pool. quality of breakfast. The sofa bed was quite uncomfortable. We couldn't rent a movie through the tv and options for tv was very limited. room decor. sheets were itchy. The price and old elevator took for ever and there is only one. The appalling "service" - lack of - from Lyndsay. She was absolutely appalling. Your rating would be zero if not for Aaron's wonderful service and attention to your customers. hard to find. Building was old and dingy. No pool or facilities. The room did not have curtains that closed only sheer panel and the parking lot lights shined into the room all night also no privacy. Lobby was small and had no comfortable sitting. The desk clerk was rude. Advertised as close to beach and was not. You had to walk mile and half and walk busy street and cross interstate. Older property - room had obviously patched up walls, unfinished paint job in bathroom. Noisy in-wall/window air conditioner. Beds sagged badly toward center; need to be replaced. Covered parking very cramped; non-covered not so bad. Where ever you park, watch out for poles, walls, and other cars. There was no microwave, no updated television, beds uncomfortable. Poor parking, and the visual outside look of hotel was not what we expected. We have stayed in a lot of hotels and for the price this was a poor choice. Beds were uncomfortable. Breakfast was not quality. Unattractive grounds in one of the most beautiful areas in California.
