The couple who own the B&B, Dwight and Cheryl, were charming, informative about restaurants and activities in the area, and the room we had was lovely and comfortable. The wireless network worked well because they had put in network extenders, and the location could not be beat, a very short walk from the city center. We were there over Canada days, but St. John was not really crowded, and we had no trouble finding a good restaurant with no wait and a good pub with fine local beer. A lovely.
all reviews » Innkeepers Cheryl and Dwight are just fantastic. They made me feel cared for and completely at home. Cheryl's breakfasts are absolute delicious. I stayed in The Parlour Room and it was spacious, with a full kitchen. The location is wonderful, just a 5 minute walk from the Old Market. I highly recommend the Earle of Leinster and will stay there the next time I'm in Saint John. The Staff at the Earle are an incredibly lovely couple, who are very helpful and eager to share information on what to do in Saint John. Whenever we were wondering what to do, all we needed to do was ask and we were given a list of fun ideas. Those at the Earle aim to please, and they did! We felt very welcome and would love to visit again. Being made feel at home and the way the owners were friendly and always very helpful. The breakfast was well presented and contained local and healthy foods. Location was excellent and rooms were comfortable. Price was very attractive. Rooms had character with the old furniture. What a charming building with hosts equally as impressive. Dwight and Cheryl were super friendly, very helpful and made delicious breakfasts. We definitely recommend this place for its charm, character, location, facilities and hosts! What a great experience!. Neighborhood architecture is High Victorian & spectaular for walking & history. Breakfast was particularly tasty. The hosts were knowledgeable about their city and eager to share. Provided map with highlights & restaurant recommendations. The hosts were very friendly and informative. The breakfast was superb. The building has many quirks as old buildings do, but it has a lot of charm and is clean and comfortable. It was nice to meet other travellers and chat. The breakfast was fantastic and the hosts are friendly and helpful:) We will absolutely stay there again!. The service was fantastic. The only thing we found peculiar was that the beds weren't made every day. We stayed for two nights, but did not come back to a made bed. However, this didn't matter to either of us. We very much enjoyed our stay. Television was not easy to use and in the end we could only get one station. Cable management in the room was not good too many plugs and extensions. The room being both a bedroom and kitchenette was not appealing. Bath/Shower was teeny-tiny. Parking is not very convenient and the building is in an old neighbourhood which looks a bit run down but is OK really. Nothing. tiny bathroom. nothing. The day I arrived, a guest's car was broken into and a computer was taken. That left me rattled for my stay. The room was in very poor technical condition and overall not what I expected although I have been in B&B's a lot. BF was minimal. More than 1 crossant was not available!! 1 star is all what I would award it.
