I like the fact that Holiday Inn gives us that very important flexibility to bring our children along and enjoy as a family without worrying about the additional cost for the kids! This is so great! The hotel was clean and staffs were courteous. Dane served us and he was great!. The staff were some of the best I've seen and I've worked in the hospitality business for over 20 years. The breakfast spread was amazing...everything you could want and more. The secure parking for half the price. The staff always had a smile on there faces.

This is the best Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in. Very clean and comfortable with great views of the town, harbour ans surrounding countryside. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. I was exhausted when I arrived and the lady at the front counter was so kind and made everything so quick and easy to book in, the room was fantastic, very comfy bed and great food, thank you. We loved the view from the rooftop while laying next to the pool. Could see the whole of Townsville from 20 stories up. Even from our 16th floor balcony we were wowed by how nice it was. The staff of the Holiday Inn were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful and make our holiday an easy and pleasant one. A big "Thank you". Staff where friendly and had great quick customer service room was excellent bed was comfortable excellent hotel would definitely stay there again. They are so soft that if we had spent any longer there, we would end up having a backache and lack of sleep. We ordered a pizza from room service and it was like a homebrand pizza that was old and rubbery. It was replaced with fish n chips with no drama, after I complained. Also, we were booked into a King room with no windows or balcony after I specifically asked for and booked a twin double bed room with windows / balcony. Once again this was rectified with no drama and the room we were eventually given was lovely.....except for the carpet[dirty and stained] and the TV reception. Nothing at all. That we were only there for one night. If I'm honest, the only thing that irked me was that the tiles in the shower were dirty and mouldy. I know with Townsville weather this is probably difficult to control, but I wonder if they are using a mould KILLING cleaning product. Bleach based cleaners only bleach the mould for a while, before it's obvious again. Outside of building is pretty dated. Nothing. We had no hot water.... But when we passed on the that feedback we were discounted for the inconvenience.... Not enough info when we arrived. The bathroom was a little small, and the toilet was very squashed between shower and wall. There was a light that was not working which I needed to do my work in the room. As a frequent traveller I am a little less tolerant to things that don't work. However, staff did give me a room where all the lights worked. Can't think of anything. The air conditioner was a bit noisy. The breakfast should be a bit more valuable. Means I missed some tasty cheese and ham. The provided fruits only can be used to make juice. I have different experience with Holiday Inn in other places. i didnt like their internet,its too expensive and not wireless. The price of the in house movies $18.95 for one kids move is a bit over the top. the restaurant did not open on Saturday nights,but that was not really an inconvenience,and the breakfast was equal,if not betterthan some of the hotels I stay at in Sydney. No reasturant Fridays night through to Monday. Very inconvienent. Only very poor selection of snack meals during this period. Liked everything. Nothing. paying for valet parking. Air con wasn't working properly. Nothing. Tired building and old facilities. n/a. always have to check my hotel charges after staying there Prices quoted have a 50/50 change of being higher. having to pay for internet connection. The breakfeast on the restaurant lacks of choices, except for fried food. Nothing. laundry facilities. restaurant closed Friday,saturday and sunday. Shabbiness. Suite in need of refurbishment and in particular the plumbing and tiles. No hotel parking. Mini bar empty even though there was a mini bar menu in the room. Room service order placed through reception (phone was diverted there) was lost. Staff on reception disinterested/rude. Lack of Bedding - I do not like duvets and there was no sheets. I had ot lower the room temp by several degrees to sleep. The room had 2 single beds so you couldn't open one of hte cupbaord doors. I won't be returning, very dissappointed. Twice asked the cost of the room for the following night & twice staff said they would ring back. I had to book via letsbookhotel.com to guarantee my following night stay. The weekend was busy. Plus I had to wait 25 minutes for my car which had been parked out the back. It was there but no one told me. Had to pay a twenty dollar upgrade as my booked room was not ready at 1.50pm. Then had to move rooms as the ac did not work in the upgraded room. Did not have the wine that my partner enjoys(which is quite common) in the restaurant. Would not stay here again to be honest!.
