We stayed here for two nights and got a special for the room, it had a great room with foxstar, we loved it. The bed was wonderful we hardly got out, room service was although a little on the pricey side AMAZING it's in a great area, close to everything. We're defiantly staying again!. I was a late arrival and pleased to find out the restaurant was open till 10pm. Most similar hotels shut the kitchen down at 8. Great quality food presented well. Easy, no fuss breakfast. Will choose to stay at Rydges next time.

Staff could not have been more helpful when a booked bedding configuration was not in our allocated room - change was made with no problems. Great suggestions were given on tourist highlights too. What more can you say, great place, friendly welcome, great customer service and right in the centre of the food strip, choices galore, but I would have to say outback jack's was my favourite. We were at a Conference at Southbank. This Hotel is very convenient for this type of event & although some areas are a bit tired it does provide good value for money. The staff were helpful and very friendly. We particularly loved the comfortable bed. It was without a doubt the best one we have slept on. The spa. All rooms should have a spar. The staff at the restaurant were really nice. The food was great. we liked every thing at rydges and will stay again when we visit our daughter in the future. one thing I like is to be able to make a cup of coffee and having that option is great. Not much! The mango tree full of birds at 6am.(off back deck). Everything costs money. nothing is complimentary, paying that type of money, we thought we'd get at least a bottle of water. Minibar in the room very noisy all night. No way of turning off. A little understaffed in the restaurant - we had to wait quite a while but to be fair a number of walk up customers (like us) were the reason for that!. The menu was a little bit pricey and not enough choices for people who didn't want all the fancy meals after a long journey. The stay was too short. nothing all was excellent will recommmed you to all that i know. no dislikes. attention to detail in cleaning,a bit dusty in places but otherwise clean. Half renovated room with decore that didnt match. A bit pricey. Room service did not restock bath products. Cleaner trying to get in our room, while we were still occupying it!!. The sitcom was noisy and the kettle didn't work otherwise room was fine. Staff sometimes talked only to Aussie travelers. Pool at apartment block was way too small. Distance in the dark to walk, late at night was confronting. Too pricy for what you get. We paid $200.00 when closer to $150.00 would be more like it. Not enough tea and coffee, there was a very bad smell when we walked in, maybe garlic. However this left when the window was open. And I got 2 bad milks. Being seperate to main bldg, inconvenience of no room service or trolleys from carpark to 3rd floor, door keys not easy to use juggling bags, doors not easy to open, our kitchen floor wasnt clean. For price I dont think it was worth it. Bathroom was average and shower curtain rack was coming off the roof needed to be fixed. parking - not fully secure. Had to change rooms from 211 as toilet did not work. Bathroom, shower curtain insufficient floor got wet, could be a hazard. A shower recess with walls/door maybe more appropriate. Parking too tight. tired, old appliances, not very clean, pool very ordinary, laundry in apartment smelt awful. Bathroom could use update. Room was a bit dark. The room furnishings were a bit of a mish mash of styles (which is not really important I guess.) A/C was very noisy. The room advertised and booked was not what was issued on arrival. Only after returning to reception did we get a room that corresponded with what we booked. The apartment we stayed in was on a different street and the staff didn't make an effort to show us where it was until I had to go back and asked them to show me. The parking lot under apartment so too tight for vehicle to get in and out. Fridge noisy and staff wouldn't swap it over. TV didn't work on all channels. On arrival the air con was set on 7 degrees and the room was freezing. We complained to staff and were told to just turn it off. I have had knee surgery and had to go to bed to get warm. It took at least 2 hrs to warm up. We were not impressed by their attitude and lack of help. Cost of wifi. Hotel is old need a revamp. It was in need of a real good clean as dust was everywhere, bathroom was dirty and fridge was not working. In need of renovations and a good paint and revamp. Shower curtain did not reach the floor so water went all though the bathroom. Very shabby, and way overpriced. Might be an idea to actually state there is room service available in the directory (and place the menu in there too) rather than a brochure placed on a desk that we did not find until the morning we checked out. Parking spots small, allocated park was unavailable for our stay as someone else in it and nothing done to rectify this. Advertisement of hotel was wrong we booked in drove through a carpark out on to street had to cross road and that's where our accomadation was . I find that to be very false advertisement maybe it states that in very fine print but as far as I was aware I booked for rydges hotel southbank in one street and got poorer accomadation in another street. The wet carpet in our bedroom! No response to complaint! Water dripping off vent onto carpet. Not healthy! Furniture in disrepair. No lamps in living area. No info brochures. Would not recommend to anyone. Expected Ridges standard! In case u choose to investigate this try unit 12!. It was over priced. The rooms definitely weren't worth $190 per night and included no breakfast. It wasn't anything special:(.
