  This hotel is very convenient when staying in Solvang. I loved the room, the staff, and the location. My only 'Con', and it's a small one, but if you offer a free continental breakfast - please leave the food out and available for the guests. Svendsgaard had someone serving us behind a window with a large tip bowl in front of them. I mean is i... what people say » t free or not? I'm more than capable of making myself a bowl of cereal and grabbing a pastry and someone handing it to me instead doesn't warrant a t - It was a very convenient location to walk into Solvang. I was there for a wedding at the old mission and it was right across the street. I requested a quiet room and they gave us a room at the back off the busy main street. We ended up with a kitchen and separate dining area which we didn't use because we were there for one night. Didn't get to use the fireplace either but it would have been nice on a cold night. The staff was very friendly.

  The staff @ King Frederik was extremely helpful (I walk w/a walker) and couldn't have been kinder. The room itself was very clean and well kept. The location in town couldn't be better. We were there 3 days - a truly great experience. - The hotel is right in the middle of town, walking distance to everything. Great hotel and very comfortable.   Quaint smaller property with great access to Solvang shopping areas, conveniently freeway accessible (within 5 miles on Mission, start of shopping "square"). Room was budget-friendly and quaint, a little on the small side but just the ticket (Mother/Daughter get-away) to lay your head down and location location location. Great too that bikes are available to take for a spin and see the surrounding areas wi - The room is very clean and the owner is very nice, we arrived at late night the office was closed but the owner left our room key in front of the office door for us to pick it up. Across the street is a Danish bakery and restaurant, try their breakfast, the bacon is nice there.
