  The desk staff was helpful and cheerful. We ended up with a private bath as well, which was really nice. The room was small and there wasn't anything fancy, but it was perfect for what we needed (a bed to sleep on and a place to shower in the morning). Allows customers to store bags in locked room before/after check-in/out. - I am a middle aged ... what people say » woman who keeps a clean house. The building has seen a lot of wear but the room, linen and bathrooms were absolutely clean. The mattress was comfortably firm. The room was quiet. Temperature was comfortable. Window allowed natural light. Staff was friendly. Exceptional location.

  The place definitely has history. We even looked it up and have a look for yourselves: http://www.newarkhistory.com/mlkblvd.html It looks a little bit run down, but we didn't experience any of the terrible things people mention in their reviews. The room was clean and spacious. No mice, bed bugs, racoons or cockroaches.You can tell the hotel is ol... what people say » d and perhaps rooms need renovation but 'old looking' is not a synonym of 'dirty'. There was even bottled water in the fridge and candies. No tea and - Hotel is much better than we expected owing to unfavourable reviews we read. Staff, cleanliness, comfort are very good.
