  i liked being close to the shops and the beach - Yes - Waikiki is not really my favourite kind of place, but this hotel was excellent as a place to stop for a night close to the airport (30 mins and 9 dollar transfer on shuttle)

  Loved the location - right on the beach with a range of water sports activities available right outside the hotel door. Walking distance from a huge number of restaurants, shops, international market, bus stops, etc. There were also some shops and take aways in the building itself which was very convenient.   The location is beyond belief. The views are amazing. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the entire hotel has a nice easy, non-pretentious vibe that fits authentic Hawaii. This isn't Las Vegas in the Islands and we love that it isn't. We were booked in another hotel next door, and cancelled just so we could stay at the Mahana as we started... what people say » there after coming over from Oahu on business. We love the beach, the access, and the incredible Lanai, Molokai, ocean view. - We loved the apartment that we were given as it was facing the ocean. The 2 bedroom unit fit our family of 7. We felt at home and the unit provided everything that we needed. We loved that Mahana had the Expedio desk with the helpful Susan Ramos who assisted us in planning our tours. The Mahana is just 5-7 mins walk to the supermarket which is a plus and is just near the shuttle bus stop.

  When we arrived at approx 7.30am and found out check in wasn't until 3pm, we couldn't have been treated better, they told us to head up to the full buffet breakfast and to enjoy all of it on them, they gave us pool towels so we could use the pool or head to waikiki beach, they looked after all our luggage,and although we had to wait to almost 3pm ... what people say » for our room it was definitely worth the wait, our room was on the top floor with a absolutely fantastic view. Couldn't fault the customer service we - We stayed in an ocean view suite on the 21st floor. We actually had a view of the ocean and the mountains from our room which was really nice. The rooms were updated and very clean and the staff was very helpful. The location was convenient to everything!!! We were a block away from the beach, and the Beach walk shopping area was right downstairs from the hotel. There was plenty to do in the area and we did not need a car. I would definitely stay here again.

  I liked the condo-apt. I reserved on the 3rd floor with ocean view. Also, the owners (the resort manages it for them) had decorated nicely. The space had a contemporary, but homey feel.
