  My partner and I stay at The New Otani Kaimana for 2 nights early April 2013. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. When we checked in the lady was really friendly and we were upgraded to an ocean view room free of charge which was great. It was last two nights of our 17 night stay around the various islands so decided to pay a bit more than we had budgete... what people say » d for, but it was well worth it. It has it's own beach which is quieter and nicer than the main section of Waikiki beach. The locals hang out around h - This boutique hotel is "just right". Not too big, not too small, not too fancy, not too plain: relaxed, casual elegance. The food is excellent. Most of the staff have been there for years. The hotel is at the far end of Waikiki Beach, next to the Nanitorium, across from Kapiolani Park and close to Diamond Head--in short, away from the madness of Waikiki but within walking distance.

  We loved our corner room. The reviews said the hotel rooms were small so we expected a closet. It was perfect complete with a balcony we didn't expect. The staff was courteous and very efficient especially handling large teenage groups. The cleaning staff kept the floors immaculate. Elevators and card system worked very well. It exceeded our value... what people say » for our money compared to the cost of other hotels in the area. - The front desk clerk, Micah, made us feel really welcome upon our arrival. My daughter will be attending grad school at U. of H. next year, and he was very good at giving us info. on how to reach the university via the bus system. The hotel is very lucky to have Micah on the staff. The maintenance staff was also excellent and helped us very quickly when we experienced a power outage.

"Pesto"restaurant was a 5 min drive away and was divine. - The hotel doesn't get very good reviews so we were a little skeptical about staying here. We were surprised to find the hotel clean, comfortable, in a great location (wished we had booked for 2 days instead of 1),staff was very friendly and the renovations were beautiful. Breakfast buffet was very well done. Free parking was a bonus!

  We had a 2nd floor apartment on a 2 storey block - try to ask for the 2 storey buildings when you book. It was fantastic. The location is great, just in front of the beach.We sat on our balcony every night and watched the sun go into the sea and then the sky turn beautiful colours. It was good to be opposite the shops. We liked the pineapple in the fridge when we got the - The view of Molokini Crater, Kahoolawe, and Kameole Two was unparalleled. The morning snorkling off the rocks in front of Hale Pau Hana afforded a great variety of fishes and many green sea turtles. Our unit was superb and the other guests and staff were friendly.

It didn't face the large area of the garden, but it did have a small garden outside our room. We enjoyed it more because it was secluded. You could see the ocean through the trees. The hotel sponsors a cultural enrichment and community give-back program that encourages its employees to honor their Hawaiian culture and to participate in community ventures.   Free shuttle to and from airport is great. Our room was neat and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Liked the fact that there was a laundry room on our floor ( we did one load of wash), and for future reference noted the microwave, empty refrigerator and coffee maker in the room. Also liked that there was a stamp machine and an atm machine available. Seems like a lot of - We stayed for one night before continuing on with our vacation. Loved the size of the hotel, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, nice room, lovely pool area. Enjoyed walking in the area and going to Byron's. We would definately stay here again and will highly recommend it to our friends. We walked thru the Best Western but preferred your hotel, less busy and more personal and friendly.
