  The location is great. Right by the water and in a 'real' part of the island. Don't take any notice of reviews that say the neighbourhood is unsafe. It is a working area and there are fishermen with gear etc. It's real!! Staff at the resort are very helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed. Good to have the pool, canoes and snorkelling gear available... what people say » . Breakfast is fine too, fruit, cereal and waffles etc. OK, this is not Honolulu, but that's why we chose it... quiet, away from the main drag... if - It was only a 5-10min walk to the Seven Eleven, and Mike’s Hulu Chicken truck and a grocery store where you can also buy alochol and foods. The room had hot plates and a microwave and kitchen. So that was more than fine. The scenery was just magnificent. The water and beautiful rich green mountains with mist. I loved the fact that it was so far away from Wakiki. (Too busy for me). My studio room was enormous and my bed was very comfortable.

  The Modern is a fantastic place to stay. This was our second trip there and we loved every minute. We stayed longer this time and still didn't want to leave, The staff are just lovely, the rooms are stunning and well thought out, the views are divine, the interior design is gorgeous, the pool is divine, the other guests are always interesting,r... what people say » ooms, the gym is great, the spa was divine, great massage, the food was excellent and we ate there alot. Its easy walking distance to the Mall and in - Super friendly staff-from desk clerks to runners to room service; the room was modern and tasteful, great for work, and very comfortable and peaceful; the pools are lovely; room service was great; above all, it is a beautiful boutique hotel which is much nicer than any surrounding accommodations and for a better price. I couldn't recommend it any more highly!

  Excellent service, staff always very friendly and ready to help. The beds were very comfortable, the balcony and the panorama were excellent. We also booked two excursions (with their partners) at the desk in the lobby, both days were great! The location was very convinent, bus service and walking friendly. The breakfast were good (coffee excellent). The lobby was very nice for having coffee and reading the AM paper. Again it was nice and quiet with wee view of ocean, Diamond head and city. Could leave the sliding door open all night.

Children of all ages were well catered for and hence adults were able to enjoy the location and amenities and relax, I especially loved my visits to the adults only pool.   Free shuttle to and from airport is great. Our room was neat and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Liked the fact that there was a laundry room on our floor ( we did one load of wash), and for future reference noted the microwave, empty refrigerator and coffee maker in the room. Loved the size of the hotel, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, nice room, lovely pool area. Enjoyed walking in the area and going to Byron's. We would definately stay here again and will highly recommend it to our friends. We walked thru the Best Western but preferred your hotel, less busy and more personal and friendly. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  We loved everything about this hotel. The location is ideal. The staff seem to genuinely love their jobs and it shows in their outstanding commitment to guest service. The rooms are whisper quiet.   We exited the taxi and were welcomed to the Four Seasons with a lei, which we expected. A porter took us to the check-in desk at 11:00 A.M. where only one girl was working. The check-in girl snapped at the porter stating she was already serving someone. Dave came on the scene and checked us in and walked us to the elevator answering all our quest... what people say » ions. Our room was upgraded and ready. We were able to charge our ipod, ipad, iphone 4, iphone 5 all at the same time. I cut my finger on the razor in - The staff were very welcoming from when we first arrived. Throughout our stay we were recognized and equipt for with no trouble. All staff were brilliant at remembering our names which was very impressive. Everyone had their role to maximize the fine detail around the hotel, the design was beautiful and the lay out was very nice. Rooms were spacious and homely. I would definatly recommend this hotel.

  Maui is a beautiful small island and Kahului is conveniently located to explore the many sites it has to offer or get on exiting tours. The hotel has an excellent activity desk that helps book tours/shuttles and advises which sites to visit. The bus service from Kahului is good and cheap to visit the south side of the island for swimming or snor... what people say » keling. The hotel room appeared to have been refurbished fairly recently. - Staff was very polite. Rooms were clean beds made bathrooms clean. Saturday night prime rib and crab buffet was excellent. Very affordable and the setting was very nice. Should I ever visit Maui again I will be sure to stay at Maui beach hotel.

  Excellent location and the suites were very nice. A spectacular breakfast spread every morning which was delicious. Neither of the main restaurants impressed me much and we actually ate at the Four Seasons (Duo and Ferraro's) twice each. Also ate local food elsewhere. Grand Wailea has crappy rooms but lots to do, Four Seasons is great but pricey and a bit stuffy so this is - Absolutely amazing. Everyone treated us like we were the only guests. The check in, bellboy introduction and resort services all made the fairmont an experience to remember. I wish I could have stayed longer. Everything around the grounds were immaculate. The rooms are huge,clean and very well appointed. It definitely felt like paradise. Restaurants were great. Service at Ko was exceptional. There were so many loungers and plenty of grounds and pool space that you never felt crowded anywhere.

  Eric, the owner, is an extremely friendly and sympathetic guy. Normally he rents out the complete house as a retreat center to groups. When there is no group booking, then he rents out the 6 apartments(each like 80 qm size) in the house to tourists. Living there is more like being at home then being in a hotel. We stayed there for 8 days and had a great and relaxed - Everything! Eric, the owner,gave us a tour so we would know where things were. We had a 2 bedroom suite with lanai and bathroom for $90. Unheard of value. Laundry was down the hall and free with detergent and softener provided. There is a well stocked kitchen for use by all guests. Very quiet and pleasant place.
