It is a small boutique hotel that is conveniently located between Syntagma and Monastiraki square. The Athos is located within walking distance of the Plaka area and the Acropolis as well as the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian's Arch...we are walkers but this is easy walking. If you can get a room on the 4th floor you can get a spectacular view of the Parthenon from your window. Either way the view from the roof is just as beautiful.. The hotel has a good reputation. The location permitted me to go to the destinations I wanted on foot. I didn't feel that I was insafe in this area. It was a great value of money and I couldn't ask for more. I would stay there again, excellent choise for budget travellers.
