We stayed 3 nights at the hotel. Since the very beginning we were very happy with the hospitality of the host and the tranquility of the place that is just a few minutes away from the port. The room was cozy and spotless with a nice balcony. The breakfast was, honestly, the best that we ever had... everything was either homemade or locally produced and of course very fresh and delicious.

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Mata. This family-run place is super
friendly and welcoming. The rooms all have private balconies, but there
are also communal spaces which make it easy to meet other travellers.
The garden setting is gorgeous and really peaceful. Many people hit up
Ios to party, but we had a very relaxing time staying at Villa Mata. The
little outdoor kitchen is handy for cooking up some food. Also the staff
were really helpful when we were planning our onward leg.

Friendliness of Olga and staff, lovely view from porch, the pool and bar area (too cool to swim but beautiful!). Olga was very helpful when my husband hurt his ankle. She picked us up at ferry, handled all luggage, and drove us back to port. -

Ideal location in Ios, near the port beach and also near the village. Always kept spotlessly clean. Great views over the port of Yialos towards Sikinos. Not prone to mosquitos, as it's quite high up the hill. Free wifi. Friendly, family run establishment, which I've been using for years.
