  Arrived at 8:30pm and was greeted by the hotel owner, Mary, who offered us dinner. One could not ask for a more genuine and caring hotel owner. Hotel is set in an ideal location with both mountain and Souda Bay views.   It's all about the view folks. Although we arrived late the previous evening, the smile on my wife's face when she through open the shutters on our first full day in Crete was priceless. OK, the room was compact, and the stairs are steep but Natasha & Dimitri made us feel very welcome on our modest budget. This is an original Venetian building... what people say » so the wi-fi was a bonus. The meandering streets & photogenic alleys are right outside your back door. - Location is fantastic - right on the old Venetian harbour. The rooms are a bit dated but well equipped and quite comfortable. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. We had room 2 with 2 rooms and a balcony which was a great place to relax at any time of day or night.
