  this was our first visit to the lamplighter we were very impressed with the friendliness of all the staff we arrived with our 2 cavalier dogs who were made a big fuss of we also were asked if we wanted to eat in a separate room so the dogs could be with us which we declined as they are more than happy to stay in their sleeping crate .the breakfas... what people say » t was superb as were the meals in the restaurant at night initially we were only going to eat in there one night but it was so good we ate every nig - The innkeepers were charming! The hotels rooms newly decorated and the kingsize beds very comfortable with lovely pillows. The breakfast was also particularly delicious, with fresh juices, Greek yogurt with berry compote for example. They accommodated well for special vegetarian requests, even going out for veggie sausage for us for our second day's breakfast. Well done and thank you for a fantastic stay! Mr and Mrs Ryan

  The owners had arranged a lovely basket of flowers for my wife as it was our anniversary but also upgraded our room what a lovely touch, a very clen and bright hotel lovely freindly staff in a great position. Very confortable rooms and great to have a bar and social area so that you can unwind after a busy day. Breakfasts were excellent and offers ... what people say » a good evening menu if you don't want to go out. - This is an excellent hotel, i cannot beleive that is only rated as a 2 Star. The staff made us feel very welcome and worked very hard. Nothing was too much trouble.The food was very good and our compliment to the Chef in this regard bearing in mind the small kitchen he has to work in.Overall a very good experience and it wont be long before we return

  We were greeted by a very friendly man who couldn't do enough for us. He allowed us into our room much earlier than usual as we wanted to get ready for a wedding nearby. The room was lovely, clean and had all the necessary bits and bobs we needed (including a hand-held magnifying mirror!). Beds were comfortable, the bathroom was light and clean. ... what people say » Breakfast was good, plenty of it and good, prompt service. Would recommend this hotel to others. - A lovely inn with good, clean rooms and a good sized ensuite bathroom ..and, at times, a working TV... sinceours didn't work!. However, everybody pulled out all the stops to get the TV in working order; alas, it was not to be. We were offered free drinks as compensation in the pub, which we appreciated very much. Other than this amusing story, we had a great time in this lovely place and would definitely go back!

  The hotel was in an ideal location in Windermere. We have just purchased a boat at the marina, and this was ideal for us. The hotel was excellent, food excellent, facilities excellent, and staff extremely helpful. We were greeted on the front desk by a gentleman called Giles, extremely helpful, brilliant first class service. It was my birthday and we had chocolates left in the room and also a nice touch there had been placed a hot water bottle in the bed. Never had that before.
