    Great location on the River Wye with option of River Ferry (hand pulled). Excellent fishing and canoe facilities with camp site next door. Rooms are done very tastefully to very high standard with everything and more besides. Breakfast is probably one of the best i have ever had which makes the B&B rate fantastic. Great selection of local beer... what people say » s and ciders to try too. - It was surprisingly quiet for a busy pub/hotel and good for sleeping. Had a lovely view from the window. Got good customer service and a good positioned table for dinner. Food was very good too, and not like the sort of "pub food" we expected to find.

    This is our second residential stay. The managers are new - apparently a husband and wife team - and I get the impression that they know their business and are taking this place very seriously. The actual bedroom, in the annexe, was nicely furnished, well equipped and had a very comfortable double bed. We also ate our main meal in the bar on both evenings and the food is excellent - cooked b - We stayed in the family room (Room 5) which had 3 bedrooms: I double, I twin and 1 single, so plenty of room for a family of 5. It was also in the main building at the top, so you get some nice views. The shower in this room was really great. I mean, really great! Hot, powerful with nice shower gel and shampoo too. I know, it sounds weird commenting on the shower, but it really was awesome! I'm gonna book in here on my return from Glastonbury next year just so I can have a proper wash and scrub

    The comfiest bed I have EVER slept in at a hotel of any kind in my life! Basic but has everything you need. Lovely owners, helpful, there when you need them, but not getting in your business when you don't want. Offered very varied breakfast options and supplied extras for our special dietary needs.     Everything about Old Downton Lodge was perfect. We could not have wished for a better place to have stayed. David the Manager came to greet us as we arrived and his friendly, courteous manner continued throught our stay.     Lovely old pub with history and character in droves. For those benefits you put up with the pub disadvantages of being noisy in the evenings. Super good value, very friendly staff. I would say homely rather than luxury. But at a tenth of a normal luxury hotel price that is fine by me! - The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.     The hotel was very good value for money. It was pet-friendly- I stayed with two dogs at no extra charge. There was wi-fi and breakfast was optional at only £5 extra. The staff were also helpful and friendly. Our room, which was ensuite was only £30 and was both clean and comfortable.     Based in a small village, the pub is a good location for visiting Hereforshire and Welsh Borders. The Pub has been recently renovated to a good standard and the room was very comfortable, modern and clean. Food in the pub was good but quite pricey. We were there at a quiet time of year and the restarurant was quiet but the bar was welcoming. There... what people say » seemed to be some disorganisation in the ordering of food as one night a number of the dishes were not available. A nice place to stay but they need - I booked Kilpeck because it had been refurbished. I like that everything was clean and uncluttered and comfortable. Great that they have used an eco friendly approach. Modern clean bathroom (essential) good quality bedding and towels

    This is a lovely hospitable, unpretentious 15th century pub with clean, cosy accommodation. Great food, local ales and cider with a friendly atmosphere and stunning views of the river Wye. We had a room on t - Everything! this was our second visit...and a third is planned for next year! :) plenty to do for everyone. We don't do the canoes but its great watching those who do. Open fires in the pub for the cold times, pool and family games. Jamie, the owner, couldn't make you feel more welcome! All the staff were friendly and helpful...lovely to be greeted by lovely smiling Annett in the morning at breakfast! and witty Jamie.
