The staff is young and friendly and were doing there best as all the kinks had not been striaghtened out, it opened a few days before we checked in. This hotel was the best we stayed at in Europe. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was huge for Europe standards and because it is brand new, the facilities are to a very high standard, particularly given the price range. The rooms are soundproof and warm, and the bathrooms are really large. We stayed in a standard room and would definitely stay there if we visited Amsterdam again.

The hotel had good proximity - to the Central Station, to pick up canal trip, trams, and of course the train. The district was very convenient for laundry, restaurants, and shops. All of the staff were gracious and solicitous. Our room, though without a canal or garden view, was beautifully designed and exceptionally quiet. One of the reasons we chose Canal House was the garden which exceeded our expectations as a comfortable and beautiful place to chill out, read and enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif. As I needed to rest my foot one day, it was a particularly welcome amenity.

We stayed at a newly renovated room and the design and comfort was perfect, room was also very clean. - Very comfortable bed, very good breakfast, tea/coffee maker. In our room there was a bathroom with (dark) glass wall - so you can see what's happening inside from the room - you have to decide on your own whether it's a plus or not :)
