Our room was freshly re-decorated. It was very spacious by German standards. The hotel entire was very clean, the staff was wonderful, breakfast was very good, and a great value. We also ate at the restaurant and found it to be a good value. The little wine shop next door, also owned by the hotel, is a must visit. the location is superb. You will likely see this hotel on most of the postcards that feature the clock tower on the south side of the town. Highly recommended for a couple or a family.

The location is perfect for exploring Rothenberg and is accessible on foot. The streets are cobbled so a little difficult with buggies or wheelchairs. The hotel rooms are comfortable and easily fit a cot. The breakfast was great and plenty of variety. The breakfast lady takes pride in her job and provides a great service. She was very helpful with us preparing our babies bottles for the next day. We stayed 2 nights and ate in the restaurant both nights. The food was lovely, the service good and. The hotel was a lovely old building beautifully restored in an excellent location to walk all though the town. The room was quiet, comfortable with plenty of space. They offered off street parking in what was probably the old stable. The staff was very friendly, and spoke English. The food in the restaurant was very good with the best sauerkraut I've every had. They also served a nice breakfast. The internet service worked well. I would definitely stay here again. Large clean rooms with all amenities. Large tub in bathroom. Some rooms furnished in country style (#21). Some with balcony (#31). Ample breakfast featuring fresh seasonal berries (und Hausgemachten Weingelee) in pleasant rustic ambiance. Indoor parking. Practically next to all sights. In a post card view location. Wish we could have stayed longer. The location was fabulous as it was located near the city center. The double room we had was large, and had a great balcony, the triple room was also a good size. The rooms (we had 2 - 1 double and 1 triple) were clean. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We would stay here again, and would recommend it to our friends. What a lovely place, so much to see! The hotel is part of the historic scene, yet our car was easily parked in the garage without extra charge. About the only things I can think of are very common for small German hotels. There is no AC, and the bathroom had no tub. Good luck finding either unless you stay in a sterile chain branded hotel. The bathroom is quite small and with 2 children we often need or have more than one person in the bathroom/shower at a time. The shower was quite tight. The hotel has stairs which would be hard for disabled/ frail or buggies etc. There was nothing I didn't like about this hotel. Limited space to lay out luggage or perhaps we brought too much. Liked everything!. Nothing. The table is in the middle of the room and no socket for my laptop. Nothing. nothing. Dark interior. Tricky to negotiate your way inside - quite a maze. Rooms and bathrooms could do with a makeover. The 3rd bed in the room was a bit like a camp bed.

Drive into town through the magnificient Spital-Bastei (no entry during limited hours at weekends only). The Glocke Hotel is 400 metres further ahead on the right.
