What people say

Having been to Sydney several times staying at different hotels each time (4 or 5 stars),we always break up our stays with two hotels for variety. The Intercontinental on Circular Quay had the most professional, helpful and friendliest staff of all the hotels we've stayed at in Sydney. Their Concierge staff is the best we've encountered anywhere. My teenage kid don't want to stay anywhere else after this last visit. We managed to get the room at a reasonable rate and took advantage of this. The .
all reviews loved the location perfect for access to see the Opera Carmen at Mrs Macquaire :Point. Loved being able to walk through Royal Botanical Gardens (had a picnic) and easy acces to shopping with the free green bus just up the road. Our view from 2218 was excellent - we were really thrilled. Big thanks to the Conceirges who made our requests for massages and restaurants easy. Great service from front desk check in and out, umbrellas on the rainy days and help with suitcases. Just the best experi. From the moment I checked in I felt welcomed, from the young man on the desk to the man who pointed me in the right direction for the lifts. All my contact with staff was positive. All friendly, well dressed and groomed. The room was comfortable, very well serviced and the location perfect for my visit. I went to the opera and it was literally a walk in the park to the venue which meant I could have a bottle of wine with dinner. Loved the pool and swam everyday, and loved the view of of that fa. We were delighted by our reception from the Hospitality Manager as this was a special trip for my wife's 60th birthday. We appreciated the complimentary wine. We thought the venue for the coffee lounge a beautiful adaption of a historic building. We were very impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the concierge staff. The friendliness of the staff, they were more than happy to have a conversation. The view from my room overlooking the Conservatory of Music, Botanical Gardens and the Harbour - just beautiful. The bed was extremely comfortable. Everything was very clean. So easy to get a taxi from and to. On site parking. Security. The room decor. i loved the service at the Hotel , i arrived early on the day and they had the room reayd for check in which was amazing. Thye are all so friendly and eager to assist in any way possible , very friendly staff also. The location was fantastic, i have stayed at the 2 years ago and really enjoyed it then also, hence me coming back. The location was fantastic as it is so close to the opera house, the rocks and circular quay and a short walk to city shops. We had stayed at five star hotels closer to china town on previous trips and this was so much better. All members of the staff were outstandingly friendly and helpful .The rooms were well kept. The location is excellent with the harbour views, the harbour bridge and opera house, museums, park so close. The historic building is wonderful. The staff were very professional and helpful. The food at cafe opera and breakfast was delicious and fresh, varied and abundant. The service was very high quality. The staff were extremely helpful, polite and kind, the floral arrangements throughout the hotel were delightful after a long Melbourne winter - pink blossom! Our room was great and the view amazing, we could have sat & looked out the window for hours. Loved the location - a short walk to everywhere. The room was spacious with a magnificent view over the botanical gardens and the harbour, the location was excellent. On a busy Saturday in November the staff dealt with a large number of guests, all wanting something at the same time, with calm, friendly efficency. We will definately stay there again. From the moment we arrived when the Reception staff were so welcoming and professional, throughout our stay the staff were charming and professional. The room and other hotel facilities we used were wonderful - have stayed here previously and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!. Checking staff were so accommodating, my daughter was flying back to the uk in the evening and even though we had an checked out they were so helpful allowing her to shower and freshen up before she left. Very friendly and a great team. Had a great stay - too short !!!. Love the location. It is very close to Opera House & Sydney Harbour Bridge Love clean rooms & comfy beds & latex pillows but you have to asked for it. Love the breakfast. Always stay here because we love it. We recommend you to all our friends. Professional, friendly and courteous staff, excellent facilities, great CBD location, walking distance to Harbour, the Rocks, the Opera House, Botanic Gardens, Museum, Art Gallery, plenty of casual and fine dining options in and around the Hotel. Location is perfect, so close to all that is Sydney. Facilities were A grade, breakfast room and selection of food was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful with directions and answered all questions in a most knowledgeable manner. Size of the rooms, view from the room, cleanliness. Each day my room was cleaned to the highest levels I have ever experienced. Location was great and nothing was too much for the friendly staff, who preempted my needs when possible. Location was very good, right downtown in CBD. Price was very good (due to weekend special rate and breakfast included which no other CBD hotel seeming to be doing both). Rooms and attention by staff were both very high standard. The InterContinental was a wonderful and very happy hotel to stay in. Every staff member smiled and went out of their way to help every person staying at the hotel. My Mother has a disability, the room meet our needs perfectly. I was incredibly impressed with the InterContinental. The staff were very professional, room was beautiful, facilities were high class and the food simply divine. Well done! I would certainly recommend this hotel to others. Location, breakfast (quality and variety), comfort, helpful staff, cleanliness, interior decoration in the old part of the building. All in all, this is a wonderful hotel where we would like to return to. Great service Room cleanliness & nightly turn down with chocolates Intercontinental club facilities were the best presented I've seen and the view as always magnificent Staff helpful at all times. Room service was well a truly value for money, cleaners came back more then once a day so if I slept in your room still got cleaned, location and view were amazing and staff always helpful and kind. The location was so central and within an easy walk to everything. The hotel was excellent and could not fault it in anyway or the staff. Always willing to help and nothing was too hard for them. Location, Breakfast, Wine & Dine restarunt, complimentary umbrella when rain, lovely view, frendly staff, can book many of attractions via concierge, bed is soo comfy, carpet in the room. All the staff, from front desk to concierge to those helping out with conferences, provided excellent customer service. Fast, efficient and polite. Nothing anyone could complain about. I was very impressed with the staff and the hotel in general. I am happy to say that my 5 year old daughter's first hotel experience was a very memorable one for all the right reasons. Everything it seemed they were out to impress and make the stay memorable for all the right reasons. It was a pleasent shock to discover that is the way they treat all their guests!. The beds, towels, room setup, window in the bathroom, breakfast. Monthly specials (eg french champagne offer), all the staff, absolute value for money, hairdresser, high tea. Everyone was more than helpful and pleasant. Have stayed with you before and keep coming back for this reason, and will be back in the future. Had a fantastic weekend!!. Every staff member was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere. Awesome food. Can't rate it highly enough. Will definitely go back repeatedly. First class all the way, staff are excellent along location with accessibility to transport so easy this is the place to holiday if you want a great Sydney escape. Excellent friendly, efficient service. Well positioned for a visit to Sydney...very easy to access by car. Brilliant breakfast buffet which was included in tariff. Views of city, friendly courteous staff who delivered everything that was asked of them and more, excellent pool and gym, can't speak highly enough of the hotel!. We loved the view over the harbour and espoecially Cortile for coffee and relaxed snacks Breakfast service and range of food was wonderful..would go there again. Perfect location, walking distance to the harbour and opera house. Check in staff were amazing and extremely helpful especially Olivia at the front desk. convenient location close to hub of public transportation and within walking distance of the opera house, botanical gardens, restaurants, and shopping. Lovely staff & restaurants. We dined in Cafe Opera & Cortile. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of variety & a good start for the day ahead. Attention to detail, fine dining experience at Carillion and wine and chocolates placed in our room after staff were aware we were on our honeymoon. Great location and lovely room. Breakfast is amazing ( but awful coffee) . Pool is a highlight . Indoors on a high floor with harbour views . We stay at club room and really enjoy the facilities at lounge. The rest of staff from Concierge and porter really helpful and professional. The intercontential was great for being central to Sydney highlights. Quiet and very comfortable. Breakfast was great. Staff very pleasant. Great view, excellent staff treatment, great food! Nice location in the city, not too congested but only a walk away from heaps of things. Hotel Employees were all very helpful, curtious and extremely good at their jobs.My stay was very peaceful and l left feeling well rested. loved our position on the centre of the Vivid festival we walked to great views and enjoyed meals in the cortile especially asian plate. Lovely bed & great air con Edge of Darling Harbour view in City View room Wonderful location Free late check out given on request. We have stayed at all 5 star hotels in Sydney but never the Intercontinental From now on it will be our preferred hotel in the city. Fantasics view, wonderful variety of foods for breakfast, and staff were very professional, welcoming and not too busy to assist. The location is excellent. Front desk staff offered to extend checkout time. Free daily newspaper gives a lot local information. Very good location, right at Circular Quay and very near to Opera House and Harbour Bridge. I would definitely come back again!. We like the fact that our room overlooked the Harbour Bridge and that we were so close to everything we wanted to see and do. Nothing - all good. Leaving! But I'll probably be back in July for two more concerts at the Opera House. Nothing. Food and drinks were very expensive, there didn't seem to be any middle ground. the pillows were not as confortable as my last stay . i also wondered if the hotel has spa's in any of the rooms as that would have really topped of a wonderful couple of days. Other than that i loved it !!!. The sink in the bathroom took a long time to drain but this was the only issue in an otherwise wonderful experience as the service and location made up for this. The gluten free muesli is not tasty, but it was great that you offered gluten free breakfast - this is often overlooked. A better muesli would be the Brookfarm gluten free macadamia muesli - all the other gluten free mueslis I have tried taste like horse food or are hard to chew. I had a sandwich and a cup of tea in the foyer dining area, it was $37, I just wanted a sandwich while my room was being cleaned. Nothing!. Absolutely everything was perfect!. A little confusion on what water was free or chargeable in the room, ended up paying $8 for a water. Not very close to city centre for shopping and not convenience for transport to go there. You have to walk about 15 minute to shopping area. Wireless Internet is not free for all guests. No separate shower. The Hotel's dining rooms and the central atrium area décor is rather dated and tired, but perfectly serviceable, clean and well maintained. Given the stunning views the pool area is likewise dated, and given the stunning views, it would add significant value if the hotel had a roof terrace, and if the 'club' were made a restaurant that was open to all hotel guests and their invited friends/colleagues. nothing. TV remote was a little difficult and would get stuck however this was a very minor issue and didn't detract from the stay. 1.TV should have a simple instruction how to operate, or a built-in menu on the screen to follow easily. 2. Wi fi network is not reliable. 3. Concierge or reception should advise guests to use a better entrance/exit at the corner of Bridge and Philip sts instead of the driveway. There was nothing negative about the hotel to report. expensive rate, I paid $444with breakfast in Nov. Also, bath tube can't fit two. I had no complaints. there's nothing to dislike. Found the bed a little bit hard and sagging. Nothing. The shower over the bath...the only thing!. They asked me to check out at 11am which was really annoying. I think check out time should be later than that. That there are no laundry facilities for guests to use. You either have to pay to have clothes laundered or hand wash & have washing all over the bathroom. I expected a little more from my room, and hype everyone was giving it, but it was still nice stay for my partner and I. the fact that there was an empty rather grubby empty window space at the main door rhs entering no attempt to cover it up made a poor ist impression flowers or even papering this space would have been a great improvement the hotel was overbooked and moving around on saturday was slow and difficult especially in guest lift lobby staff tried to ease it. Rooms and bathrooms a bit small but still very comfortable. Nothing. No free Internet connection. The buffet breakfast is good but perhaps the variety could be increased. We thought the prices of some of the spirits in the downstairs cocktail bar / cafe were very expensive and bordering on the ridiculous.
