There was a really friendly atmosphere to this hotel -- the 'Sky Lobby' lounge was welcoming and the free manager's drinks early evening were great. The room suites were ideal for a several-day stay, with fridge microwave etc and a living room as well as bedroom -- there's an excellent supermarket opposite so it's easy to get fresh food of all sorts including lovely fruit and deli. The hotel is in a very good position -- we walked to the Navy Pier, Millennium park in ten minutes, maybe a little.
all reviews » The location was excellent for my wife to shop unti she drop. The beautiful layout of interior and exterior rooms was breath-taking. Our room was spacious and the king-sized bed was very comfortable. My son loved the sofa bed which was very comfortable and relaxing as well. We enjoyed the indoor pool and the soothing hot-tub. The bathtub and shower were very relaxing and soothing plus, we really apprecited the extra sinks and mirrors outside the bathroom that allowed the 3 of us to handle our b. The ammenities at the hotel were great. I truly enjoyed the "happy hour" provided to us. The room was clean, comfortable, and the bed was absolutely divine! A lot of area attractions, shopping, and dining were nearby which made walking easier and less use of having to take a taxi. The staff was extremely friendly and one in particular, "Lissa" was a great help to us and I would like for her to be recognized for her friendly demeanor and she was really helpful when checking in and answering . The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very comfortable, roomy and clean. We were offered an amazing breakfast that included every breakfast food you could think of which was served fresh every morning and was included in the price of the room. Also free happy hour every night. I would not book a room anywhere else. I've already planned a girls trip to Chicago and we will book our stay at the Embassy Suites Lakefront. It's the best place to stay in Chicago!!!. Our family of 5 was very comfortable in the room we had, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for visting all sites, and liked that it was very close to Navy Pier. The only thing negative I would have to say is the number of young children there who were playing around on the elevators and running around on the different floors. I almost got knocked down by one young person who was playing around. I don't know if staff were aware, but this is something that should be addressed as it was continuous during my stay. Taxes paid on the room per day. There was ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with the hotel itself. The gift shop was way too expensive. It was better to go across the street to Dominic's. The front desk staff on the SL floor were a bit to short for my liking. There were a bit dismissive in my opinion. I asked about booking a tour and was told they couldn't do it at the time but that the concierge would call me back the next day at 10am. I waited and waited for the call and no one called me back. I ended up booking the tour myself online. I thought the evening reception would have had a little more to offer in the area of foods but drinks were free if your an drinker in which I'm not. There was nothing that we didn't like. Having to leave... Can not think of an item at this time. OK maybe the fast elevators motion sickness and I do not get alongLOL. Pool was simply to small to accomodate the vast number of children/adults. We know this was mainly due to spring break. What's not to like?. Mattress on pullout was hideously uncomfortable for kids but, to the hotel's credit, when we complained about it, a new mattress was brought in the following day. No free wifi, but there are free computers in the lobby. Gas prices. pillows, parking expensive. No blow dryer in the rooom and I could not get through to housekeeping due to busy signal. We did not have time for this so I spent the day looking like I just crawled out of bed. No picture of a very fun day with my grandchildren. The concierge was rude!!. The dining area awkward in levels and layout and insufficient for number of beds, always difficult to find a table or somewhere to sit. No concierge until late in day. Insufficient reception staff for busy periods. Nothing. It took us a couple of days to really find multiple restaurants near the hotel. The only thing I did not like was the pillows, too soft. Overbooked first night and was put in a smoking room. Also, there was only one omelet maker at breakfast and lines were over 20" long. Parking is a nightmare. No discount for using the hotel. The low glass hand rails around the perimeter of each floor of the hotel. I felt uneasy walking down the hallway to my room on the eleventh floor!. Bathroom needed updates Room smelled musty. There were a lot of people! had some lines and wait to find table at some times. Very noisy people in the adjacent room kept us awake. You have to pay to park everywhere, even just to run in to a fast food restraunt to get take out or a casual dining restraunt makes you pay to park even if you are wanting to enjoy a nice sit down dinner inside their business, and really expensive parking at that !. business centre facilities. > Lousy in-room coffee (more like flavored water). long queues at breakfast on Saturday and Sunday!. Room could have been cleaner...thick dust on furniture!. a little too much noise from the neighbors. would have like to store bags without using the car valet - the car valet people first ones to greet us. The price and all the taxes. The Hidden valet fees, $55 a night to park is excessive and nothing mentioned on the website about them! To top it off the valet attendant was abrasive and rude. The mattress was not comfortable and the sleeper sofa mattress was too uncomfortable for a 5'8" 140 male to sleep on. It would be a lot worse if a heavier person wanted to use it. The staff were dismissive. Paying for internet access and the big queue for breakfast. The pool was closed the last day of our stay the kids were very disappointed .
