Primarily a convention hotel this hotel still offers a great location and excellent service for tourists. A 20 minute walk to Navy Pier and easy walking to the Magnificent Mile and State Street so no matter which side of the river you want to explore this hotel offers a convenient location. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. They do have a sign on the desk which offers items for your use for free to keep I.E.: wine opener and then items to borrow or buy I.E.: curling iron. There is a goo.

My husband and I noticed your hotel's security - alert but discreet. We had an amazing, wonderful first trip to Chicago. The Hyatt Regency certainly was a big part of making our vacation so enjoyable. Chicago people are friendly, obviously proud of their city and eager to make visitors feel welcome. Excellent location and view from my room. Everything was walking distance including Michigan Ave, Magnificient mile, Millenium park, navy pier and state street. Taxi was at the doorstep and the staff was exceptional. Breakfast was superb. one never had to wait for the elevators.House keeping was very efficient. I will definitely stay there again and request a room with the same view.It made my trip most pleasurable!. I am moderate in nature and I like the location, the hotel service is impecable, I also like the lounge where you meet up with friends and connect with business interests, the tourist attractions such as the nearness to the river, millenium park etc. I enjoyed the ride on chicago first lady boat though bcos of the rains I could not visit the millenium park, I also love the closeness to shopping malls, and so on. Hotel near milenium park where we can walk around 5 minutes from hotel and see the famous the bean or the cloud. Hotel always near the chicago theather. If you want go to magnificient miles, you can use bus which stop near the hotel. Lobby hotel is so big and good place to sit and eat. I love sit in this lobby. Room is big andd comfort. I got the best price from letsbookhotel.com. We had booked two connectioning rooms. One was ready for early check in and so we were able to refresh and rest before going out for the day. Also we had checked into both rooms but with one room ready so when we returned from lunch, we saw that the line was very long so we called and someone brought the set of keys for the second room up to us. LaToya at the Concierge desk was wonderful! She was patient and helpful, pointing out the main sights. The staff at the Steak House were so nice and gave excellent service. It was good food too! Maria, our housekeeper on the 33rd floor was very cooperative with children leaving in and out at unpredictable hours. Good cleaning job quickly. Location location location!! You are right where you want to be if you are a tourist which we were. The hotel is very clean and the staff was very friendly and courteous. The concierge was extremely help in pointing us in the right direction for travel options and making dinner reservations at a popular restaurant. -GREAT location! In the heart of the city and at the start of magnificent mile! -Staff were very helpful when asked on where best to eat. -very social hotel- bar was opened until late every night -rooms were spacious and very clean. It took the clerk a very long time to divide the cost of the rooms by four (people) which we did when we first arrived there, and then when we checked out, it was an extraordinary amount of time to repeat the divide by four process. The bathroom has almost NO space to put toiletries or any things needed in a bathroom. Yes, it was sleek, but impractical. Having to pay so much for parking, internet, and breakfast was a bank breakers for families with children. The only minor dislike was the registration desk being on the 2nd floor. It was confusing as to why. I notice this of other travelers as well. -understandably, being such a bog hotel, i found it sometimes lacked 'being personal' between guests and the staff. No indoor pool. I'm in triathlon training, and I would have appreciated a swim. And when I asked about it, the staff didn't offer information about other sites (y, la Fitness, etc.) that had one. I understand the limitations of big-city hotels, but info re access would have been welcome. The room was very small in comparison to the photos on the website. For the price I anticipated something bigger. Although this doesn't defer me from staying again. Also, the menus were very limited, but very delicious food!. elevator noise as our room was near the elevator. The price. For special occasions this is O.K. but not very often. This was our second time at this hotel and we will go back again. No complaints. Price was high for a one night stay. Shower was pretty small. Not a huge fan of murphy beds. Hallways seemed dark and unclean. Saw security guards walking the halls which was a little unnerving. The only thing we didn't like was not being told about the "occupancy tax". We were told all taxes and fees were included in the $199 per night charge when we checked in. It was frustrating to not anticipate that extra $60 on top of our bill. We didn't get the two double beds in two rooms. We ended up with a suite with a king size bed and one room with two double beds. It was a fine compromise as we had fewer people, but it could have been embarrassing if everyone attended. The parking!!!! As a guest of the hotel they should offer discounted parking rates. Wish they had had a better appetizer menu. Also, why was the kitchen closed until 3 pm for appetizers, but people 20 feet away could get lunch? Food was good when we got it though. The mattresses and pillows - especially the pillows were very discomfortable. I missed a swimming pool. Parking was a little higher than most place in the city. The room was cold even after turning the heat up to 80 it never seem to warm up. The bar and eating areas were dominated by TV screens which I found excessive and distracting. I chose not to use these facilities as a result. In American craft the choice of food in the menu should be more may be a few Asian cuisine!. Large hotel so some things were just a little slow. Like elevators and getting front desk to answer. But overall very good. Minor item: at times, too many people trying to use elevators. Difficult to find parking garage using gps because it stalls after taking you underground. Mini bar and credenza snacks are billed by simply moving. Nothing!. Couldn't really pick anything to dislike. Bathroom design in west wing is not women friendly. Not sufficient counter top space to place your cosmetic bag, own hair dryer, etc. tub looks dated. Fri Wifi in the room should be a standard in 2013!!! Do not you think so?. Small bathroom and valet parking is kinda expensive, about $59 a night, but that's reasonable for downtown Chicago parking. The hotel did not have wi-fi in the rooms, only in the lobby. this was very inconvenient. The hotel also did not have a fridge in the room. The toilet paper roll was not located in a convenient spot in the bath room. It also fell off three times. The bath soap could be more special. When I went to book this hotel in Oct the room rates were ridiciously high. Not sure why. It was too bad that I had to wait to see if the prices went down. Just happy they did. It is definitely a big hotel that tends to be very popular with conferences, which wouldn't have been good for me if I was traveling with family. the room was not what i expected. mini fridge was only for hotel beverages and no microwave. needed microwave to heat up chicago style pizza because i couldnt finish it all at the restaruant. Went to get a drink about 12 midnight and the large bar was closed and the small bar upstairs did not have a chair to sit. We had to leave the hotel and go next door to hooligans.
