We stayed here to see Bob Dylan at the Winter Gardens, this is ideally located as it just around the corner and very central to everything in Blackpool. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Full English breakfast was nice too. Excellent location just next to the Winter Gardens. Few minutes of walking distance to the embankment, close to shops and restaurants. Friendly staff, everyday cleaning. The hotel is good for those who come to spend time in the town, for dance festival competitors.
all reviews » The staff were very friendly & very accommodating. The rooms were very spacious and the beds were really comfortable. The weather was terrible when we went but that wasn't much of a problem because we were very close to everything we needed. Really helpfull and friendly staff,sorted out a car parking space for me and an ideal location next to the Winter Gardens and the price was fantastic. Location was excellent. The family rooms were big with plenty of space. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice big lounge area. Great location not far from most attractions. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Room and bathroom was very clean and nice. Real handy for all shopping, Close to all sights, Friendly atmosphere from Arrival to departure . Easy parking. central location to shops and bars, friendly and helpfull staff.clean and tidy, excellent value for money. the room was clean and tidy, i liked the location from the beach and pubs and the staff where friendly. The night Porter was Brilliant,and could not help us enough and really made us feel so welcome. I would stay again. enjoyed friday night entertainment ,on sat night had dj on who was a rubbish ,spent more time doing bingo 7 times and 2 quizes then playing records ,if i wanted bingo would have went 2 bingo hall. The hotel is very close to the town and there is a car park nearby. The location was good and staff helpful. Good location by the winter gardens etc. The hotel was very clean. staff were helpful. Location, bar. Nothing..... Nothing. No negatives from us. Very small rooms, no adapters for the European plugs. When we first arrived a member of staff was abit rude but later was much nicer I just put it down to some members of our group being abit loud. The single rooms were next to the bar and were very noisy ALL night. Single rooms are tiny and not comfortable. Entertainment was dire. Bingo n a tape deck!! Service at breakfast was poor. We had to find a table which was dirty. The hotel allows people to smoke on the entrance to the hotel and you had to run the gauntlet of smokers to get in and out.Tabs were all over the steps. Nothing. nothing. nothing. All was fine. Just the lack of parking. Room a little tatty with damaged towel rail and soap tray missing. This did not mar the stay. were not told in advance that you could only pay by cash they told us this was explained on their website but they did have a card machine!!. Room was cold heating wasn't working in room but hotel was warm. lack of parking nearby. the noise outside till 3am especially when we were a big party staying in hotel for dance competition with lots of young children. also having to pay by cash having to go and find a hole in the wall. paying extra £5 for breakfast. breakfast served too late for a business traveller. The bed and bedding were clean. The carpet however needed changing & the extractor fan fell down in the shower room it was only held up by masking tape. I couldnt put anything on the shelf under the bathroom mirror as it slopped downwards. I phoned the hotel before leaving home 2 confirm my booking, was told everthing ok, but when got there was told they had overbooked and was transferred 2 another hotel , was told by new hotel they do it a lot .worse was i had 2 pay £90 instead of £60. I did not like my room it was very grubby, my bed was very uncomfortable but as only staying one night no point in moving and the breakfast was not so good as our toast had mould on it and the cooked breakfast was not freshly cooked. Noisey location and the floors were very creaky through out the building, woke us up late at night and early in the morning with people walking around. The hotel charge £25 per night including breakfast when i booked through letsbookhotel.com they charged me £25 per night and another £5 for breakfast?? so whats the point of useing letsbookhotel.com?? when you pay more.. The rooms are very small. was put in room 10 which is directly under a large speaker in the pub downstairs noise was terrible was only staying one night but the staff did move us when i complained. No breakfast included and staff were abit rude at first. i told them i rung up and paid and he said no you havnt you need to pay in cash now so had to go on a massive treck to cash machine for £150 which was spending money for weekend . when i got back they had found the proof that id paid. tut. The attitude of the reception person who dismissed the fact that we had specifically requested a parking space and were told e-mail requests are ignored. Directed to go to pay car parking when street parking was available in some areas, The room was small and cramped with small TV and bathroom had cheap plastic cups. Would not return!. Being woken at 11:30 at night by loud music in the bar (that hadn't been on all night), having to complain to reception about the noise, we then heard hotel guests outside our room saying it was us in room 2 that had complained.......SHOCKING SERVICE!. The carpet in our room was filthy and worn. Got a phone call a few days before to say we were in a different hotel, I complain and got put back in the one we booked. When we got there we asked about entertainment and got told there was a singer on that night, there ended up being no entertainment on at all! When we complained the staff were not interested. The bathrooms in both rooms smelt really bad would not stop here again. I didn't even stay in that hotel, when i got to the hotel they said they was a problem and i had to go and stay in one around the next street, i was not impressed at all. no apology at all and the hotel i was made to stay in was dirty and not staffed well at all !. Red hot pokey rooms(could not sleep, unbearable) no shower, no air con, unhelpful staff at front desk( even though I had proof of my extra room booking, he still said I hadn't booked there and blamed letsbookhotel.com or a sister hotel??), I was still charged, my custom is lost here along with the 10 other travelers. paid deposit,upon arrival told full amount was due,begged to differ,was told cant stay unless full amount paid.paid it because no where else to stay.wont be stopping there again.they also did it to another couple in our party whod paid with visa card. Everything, very poor one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. Have replied through phone already but really annoyed at the Melville for over booking people. We were told that one member of their staff was phoning all the local hotels and b and B's trying to find rooms because they had more people coming than they could cope with and saw other people coming in with the same story. The breakfast are so High in calories and saturated fat, that it could give A heart attack. The walls was so thin, it felt like I was sleeping in the bar and the bed so hard as the bar counter. The interiour was A flashback to the 70. The next time I visit England I Wold rather camp in A tent in the park. Room was cold as the heating was not working. The staff were unhelpful and never solved the problem. The hallway to the room was warmer than the room itself. The toilet in a friends room smelt like something had died in it. The bed in the cupboard sized room was the most uncomfortable thing I've ever slept in resulting in back pain in the morning. Overall a very unpleasant stay.
