THis is a tiny facility with intelligent use of space in smaller quarters. The beds were quite good, the bathroom was Great. The front desk was very helpful in getting around and taking public transportation to needed areas. This is a facility above the grade of hostel and lower than a traditional hotel. Gernearlly it is a place for younger travellers. Wi-Fi. No food services but restuartns everywhare. Centrally located in Madrid and this was Great! This is the only facility I have ever.
all reviews » Very nice situated in the centre of Madrid, close to the metro "opera". Shops and diner places nearby. It's a small room (not to small) but if your main goal is to discover the city, who needs a bigger one? The shower was great. The personnel is realy friendly and speaks sufficient english. Ver. Breakfast is small and you have to walk there (3min) but after late dinner, you don't need much of a breakfast. Nothing to say in here. There was no place to park the car for unloading the luggage. As the big windows faced the street, first floor we couldn't open the curtains. When windows were open it was fairly noisy. It would have been nice to have a place to put the suitcases. There was some strange noise at night which waked up my friend several times. Corridor very tiny and rooms walls very thin, so you hear everything. Not for light sleepers. Rooms are tiny. Could smell smoking from room next door a few times. Found lot of long dark hairs in room and bathroom. Cleaner broke my straightener and dumped my toothfloss. underground room without enough natural light, small bathroom, noise. The room was unclean with an unbearable smell of tobacco smoke mixed with an unbearable smell of cleansing product. I found also a cigarette pack underneath the room. I cannot understand how an establishment like that cannot have a smoke detector or not having a non-smoking policy for the 100% of the spaces. The room (San Lorenzo del Escorial) was on the ground floor. The toilette is really small. One cannot sit straight on the loo as your knees would hit the wall. Ditto what I have written in first section. For what they charge you would be better to book into an actual back packers place and pay the small tariff i.e. 25 - 30 per night. This place is a rip off. You can do better - look around. If you have a Backpacker spirit it is a good place. But if you want a minimum of comfort, forget this hotel!! The room is the smalles that I see in my life, we do not have space to put the 2 lugages ( mine and my wife´s ) the bathroom is too small that it´s impossible to be in the box. Other thing is that the room is not so clean, and we find hair on the bed when we arrive. I do no recommend this hotel. It´s the smallest room that I have been!! It´s impossible to put 2 luggages in the floor. The bathroom is too small that its impossible to take a shower a person with more than 1,6 meters. If you are a backpacjer and dont want a minimum of comfort its could be a option, if you want a minimum of comfort , forget!! I booked a romm for 2 person and to be honest I dont leave the hotel because the hotel request the payment before I saw the room.
