  The suite was spacious, clean and comfortable, with fantastic views, and the location close to the town centre was excellent.   The privacy, cleanliness, Scenery was lovely and central to everything. Loads of parking so we left the car there and walked around. The man at reception was very pleasent and friendly. - The proximity to the shore/shops/ferry/Waitangi museum/eateries etc. but far enough away from main traffic noise.

  We found the Ash Grove cabin we had to be the best accommodation we had on our visit to the Northern part of the North Island. Everything was absolutely perfect, which we failed to get at many other of the locations we visited. Owners/managers? very friendly and helpful; have nothing but praise for the establishment, we wish we could have staye... what people say » d longer. - Welcomed with fresh muffins from really nice hosts. Our cottage was right next door to hosts house yet it was private, clean and had every thing we needed to make our stay comfortable. Great place for our break away weekend. Easy access to a variety of attractions, Paihia,Kerikeri etc.

  I really enjoyed my stay at his place, and the location was an added bonus. I really look forward to booking with them in future and hopefully there will be availablilities the next time I want to book in.

  Wonderful greeting by owners upon arrival,very clean and tidy, just a nice atmosphere.well done and wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to others and stay there again if up in Paihia. - have stayed there a few times and the staff are lovely and the rooms are always so clean and love what you do with the towels

  Nice Motel, friendly staff, a huge room with spa bath. The manager was extremely friendly, courteous and most helpful. The location of this Motel is great. Within easy walking distance to shops, rsa Club with the best meals and cheap as there! We enjoying staying here for 2 nights and the facilities were above our expectations. We had bad weather ... what people say » but the manager offered us a video recorder, plus movies which was very welcomed and made us feel right at home. Top class - 10 out of 10 Dolphin Mote - loved the roominess of the apartment - ideal when travelling with a toddler who likes to run around. Also loved the separate bedrooms and full kitchen. Really loved being greeted with a free beer or softdrink, and free wifi. Also the added mile Paul went to pay our toll for us - saved us having to stop if the baby was asleep. Thank you Paul. Great location within easy walk to everything, and great recommendation about meals at the RSA.

  Comfortable room with plenty of facilities/space. Staff were friendly, helpful and gave us lots of information. Aloha is in a good situation for the bay of islands, Russell, Waitangi etc. You can get a tour to 90 mile beach from Paihia, although we drove and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Good restaurants in town - about a ten minute walk. Overall ... what people say » a very enjoyable stay. - we stayed here for the night as a gift for our wedding nite and loved the flowers that were left in our room from the lovely gardens from the staff at the motel, a lovely touch, thank you. Wine & chocolates were left for the room by my parents which the staff put into our room before our arrival, big thanks for doing that. Great facilities and a relaxing stay

  We stayed four nights in March 2013 and needed the break after being robbed in Auckland. Jan and Kevin were unobtrusive but always there with help or information when we needed it. The location is a few kilometres "out of town" and we loved this. The town was too busy for us with constant traffic and people coming and going on the ferries. The view across the bay is superb and we never tir - I found The Retreat while googling accommodation in Paihia. After a long drive from South Auckland I was welcomed with a big genuine smile from Jan, who showed me my room with the spectacular view from the deck. The furniture is a dated and old but clean and the bed was really comfortable. The view from the deck is spectacular and I managed to get some wonderful sunset photos.   Good Location if you have a car, a bit far to walk to the town centre but was fantastic having a pool and trampoline for our son to play on and the spa was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful, we would love to stay again but we would stay on the bottom floor as you have easy access to the pool and the car park.   Great location, friendly staff, affordable rooms. The nightly BBQ is a great deal if you haven't made plans for dinner. The reception give you plenty of information about the local area as well as a booklet containing more info & vouchers. - Evening BBQ was fantastic. By itself worth the stay.

  This motel is just beautiful. The present photos do not do it justice, our studio apartment was fabulous, spacious, lovely decor, large comfortable bed, excellent furnishings, refreshing colours, and immaculately clean. The staff went out of their way for us. We had to be somewhere by 11am and asked if we could park our car at the motel. They went... what people say » further than that, they allowed us to check into our studio, which they had prepared early. The motel is a 3 minute walk from the beach, waterfront a - Excellent Staff! Out of the 3 places we stayed in, the staff here were simply the best, friendly and only too willing to help out, with best places to eat and what attractions to see and offering umbrella's as they could see it was going to rain on our walk. (which it did). We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit, and it was like luxury, clean, modern and comfortable with free wifi to top it all off! Hubby now wishes I booked our whole stay here and not just the 1 night.
