Queenstown Hotels

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights taking a break from backpacking in Hostels during our 3 week trip. The staff were very friendly and got us settled in quickly. We had a lovely comfortable stay. The hotel is clean and only a 5 minute walk to the main street. Overall a cheap hotel which provides basic accommodation to the budget concious traveller. We had a great 2 night stay at Alta apartments. We stayed during school holidays and got a great deal with free breakfast for the adults at the crowne plaza and $230/ night for 2 adults and 3 children. The children loved the space of these apartments and it was great having 2 bathrooms and TV's. We had a lovely view out over Queenstown and the remarkables and were close to some walking tracks up the gondola hill. The apartments were very well appointed and clean with good showers and bath. My jaws dropped when I entered our room at the Rees in Queenstown. It was simply beautiful. King-sized bed, the finest quality linens...flat screen tv, jacuzzi bathtub, glass shower, retractable electric blinds, full view of the lake - note that EVERY room at the Rees is lakeside, the list of amenities goes on....what really made my jaw drop was the price we got this luxurious stay for - only US$100 per night. My partner and i were lucky enough t get some opening specials to this accommodation and when we go back to Queenstown, we will not be staying anywhere else. We had a one bedroom apartment which was alos the two bedroom apartment because the second room was simply locked. I am not quite sure how to give this place justice. The Novotel is a great base for a stay in Queenstown as it is so central and allowed us to walk to anywhere easily. The staff there were so welcoming and friendly and we were suprised at how spacious our room was. I loved having a balcony so you can actually let some fresh air in rather than being stuck in a stuffy room with just air conditioning. We also dined at the restaurant for breakfast and enjoyed the full buffet breakfast which was very nice but the highlight was making our own waffle - Paul

Stayed here for 2 weeks for our skiing holiday with our 2 young kids. The hotel was easy to find located on Fernhill about 5 minute drive from central Queenstown. Check-in was very pleasant and we were upgraded to a Lakeview room for free. The room was spacious for a family of 4. The sauna and spa were very relaxing especially after skiing, it's a shame the pool is not enclosed. Asked housekeeping for bathrobe and slippers which were brought to our room very quickly. The location of this hotel is great; the rooms were quite nice, and despite being so central, the free parking was appreciated! The staff also were extremely friendly and helpful, so kudos to them. Of the three hotels I have stayed in Aberdeen, this one is my favorite. Only complaint really is that my airline miles were not posted (never got a response to the email asking about it later), but other than that, very good! - John

Staff are very helpful, we arrived in the middle of a fire alarm and the staff were still helpful under the added pressure. Clean room great view. - John

Very modern, clean, beautifully decorated, large living room area with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Lake Wakatipu. Large patio, washer and dryer in the premium unit, exceptional value for the price. Word of caution, we rented a 2 bedroom unit, the master had floor to ceiling opening windows, second bedroom had no window and no ventilation which made it quite uncomfortable (late Nov) - Rachel
