Auckland Hotels

I stayed at The Quadrant a couple of years back and found it fine, so I booked again for a recent weekend stay in Auckland. There were some excellent deals going for weekends, so I was very happy with the price. The hotel is in a relatively quiet location for central Auckland, while still being close to major attractions. I had a great view from my room, looking over towards the Domain. The room was a studio which, while compact, was big enough for me for 3 nights. Maybe a large person would - Kevin

I arrived in Auckland just before the sun rose, the hotel was almost at capacity...and check-in is usually 2pm. The fantastic crew got me into my room so I could sleeeeeeeeeeep and freshen up before an engagement at lunch. I cannot thank them enough for going out of their way and delighting this guest! All interaction with all the different reservations staff was impressive, and I found them all professional, friendly, and helpful. The room Clean, comfortable, and contemporary. We stayed at this hostel in November last year. We booked over the internet and stayed for 5 nights. It was all very simple. The staff were very friendly and helpful, both at check-in, and during our stay. We had a double en-suite which was large and spacious, clean and bright. The room had good facilities with a TV, fridge, microwave and kettle. It could get a little noisy from other guests and the building site outside, but nothing too bad. The location is great. Me and my baby son stayed in a 2bedroom apartment for 6 nights. The service was friendly and helpful - they prepared a baby cot before we moved in and answered all questions I had. The harbour view from level 20 was amazing - I watched ships being loaded/unloaded in Auckland port, sunsets/sunrises etc, the city lights were good too. We stayed only 2 nights in Waldorf Stadium apartments hotel in Auckland city while attending the Cliff concert in Vector area which is only 250 m from the Waldorf Stadium. What a great Auckland location. Only 450 m from the railway station that we used to get into Auckland City, 600 m from Queen Street and 400 m from the water front area. A lot of good restaurants and pubs within 300 m from the hotel. Very quite rooms with air com regardless of the central location. The apartment we stayed was v - Janet

Stayed for 4 nights in a city view room in October 2009. Stays were broken with a night away in Hamilton. Much like many of the other reviews already posted, you'l find this hotel is really lovely but lacks some of the details and luxuries of a true 5 star hotel. It still has all the facilities you'd expect it just lacks a bit of shine. First room we stayed in was on the 20th floor and whilst it was "city view" we did have glimpses of the harbour. We stayed in St. Martins Waldorf Apartments hotel for 4 nights as part of my regular business trip to Auckland . This is a modern & spacious 2 bedroom apartment accommodation with full kitchen, laundry nice veranda with view. The complex location is good - walking to the Domain and the nearby Newmarket areas and still only 600 m from Auckland Hospital that we have attended various meeting during my visit. Had minor problem with reservation as I booked a double room but when I arrived I was given a twin room, which is smaller. The key didnt work so had to revisit the reception. Other than than, the room was pleasant. Although small it was well equipped, perfect for longer stay. Bed, pilllows and quilt were all comfy. Room was extremely neat and tidy. Although located right in the CBD, the location was relatively quiet. - Claire

I have stayed at the Rendezvous Hotel twice in the past 6 weeks! The customer service I received both times was excellent - friendly, efficient, and courteous staff - from the reception/check-in people to the conceraige - I only had to look in their direction and I was dutifully attended to! Rooms are a reasonable size - stayed in a 2 x double bed room each time. There was a bath in each bathroom, toilet, and a separate shower. We have stayed for 3 nights in a spacious 1 bedroom 2 bathroom serviced apartment in Waldorf Tetra Budget Serviced Apartments. The aoartment was spotless and very looked after with full linen and towels supply. Very good and reasoably priced internet service and free local calls. The apartment was secured and had good kitchen and there was a communal alundry in the complex basement. good on site management with polite reception service. very very good value for budget but clean, modern serviced - dale
