  The owners Gavin and Wendy were very friendly and available for any assistance. The price was very reasonable for the apartment which was large, roomy and had all the luxuries of home; gas stove, fridge, full set of cooking utensils, tv and spacious bedrooms. If you want to be near the beach and hear the calming surf, this is the place to be. The TV channels are best I've seen in NZ, paying a little extra for a sea view room is a must, and the free WiFi is definitely a bonus. Dunedin is quite a boring town, but the very remote beach at Sandfly Bay, 20 mins by car was well worth the visit. The views from the front of this hotel are magnificent.

  The Albatross was easy to find, just a short drive to the shops and restaurants.The house is old , and showing its age , but full of character. The bedroom and ensuite we used was small, but adequate for a one night stop. Tea and coffee facilities were in the lounge, breakfast was served in the dining room,where we met and talked with other guests... what people say » over breakfast. The breakfast was a continental style, which included, fresh fruit salad and lovely home made muffins, as well as the normal. Glynis - The beautiful ceilings, the welcome, the friendly host, the ambience, the location close tothe stadium, and the ngith time entertainment (students partying - I hope they eventually found Georgia who was lost at 4am). Overall lovely stay for the rugby league. Go the Mighty Warriors. Great internet access and a cosy place to have breakfast with fellow customers.

  We were lucky enough to be given a gorgeous room in the old villa............not one of the motel units. Our room was just lovely with most of the original features of the villa in tact. It had real atmosphere. I don't think I would have been thrilled to get one of the 'ordinary' units. - We were in the front room of what used to be an old hou... what people say » se. The room was large with beautiful, high pressed-tin ceilings. The bed was good, we also had a lounge on which to watch TV. It was all beautifully clean and although on a fairly major road was relatively quiet at night.

  This is the second time I've stayed here this time in a private en-suite room. It's a great place to stay for a couple of nights in the city. The room is clean and they provide towels, soap and hair wash(in the en-suite rooms). Staff are nice and you can get a proper coffee in the pool bar downstairs, but there is a full kitchen in the common area... what people say » if you'd rather make your own. - Large sunny workable Kitchen/Living area, liked that the bedrooms, sleeping and bathrooms were all on the same level - made it easy to get around.   Staff were very accommodating. We missed our flight so couldn't make our first planned nights stay. Although they didn't have to they were able to waive the room fee for that night which took a lot of pressure off us and made the remaining nights stress free.   Having previously stayed here I was more than happy to return and was not disappointed. We had a comfortable bed and nice room overlooking George St. The bathroom was good and the shower was excellent!! The owner is very friendly and helpful. Assistance is offered including luggage storage on booking out and offering the lounge and kitchen area ... what people say » facility for use outside of guesthouse booking. The guesthouse was full but it was very quiet. A pleasure to stay here and will return. Reasonable - The owners were really friendly and informative, our plane arrived late and they were great to stay up to wait for us and the place is affordable. They even recommended us a cheap car rental I m glade they were so helpful and friends. I would definitely recommend this place to friends n family

  Simon and his family were really lovely people who did everything they could to make our stay excellent. It has a great relaxed and homely feel and we were encouraged to really make ourselves at home. The facilities were excellent with access to tea/coffee, dinning room, use of a fully equipped guest kitchen, sauna, the beds were really comforta... what people say » ble and the house was nicely decorated. This is the best accommodation we have stayed in on our travels over the past year! Great value for money, w - Grandview resonates with the history of the building with furnishing chosen to reflect this history yet accommodating modern comfort. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. We would chose to stay there on another visit to Dunedin especially as the option of self catering would be appealing for a longer stay. It is extremely good value for money.
