We were lucky enough to be given a gorgeous room in the old villa............not one of the motel units. Our room was just lovely with most of the original features of the villa in tact. It had real atmosphere. I don't think I would have been thrilled to get one of the 'ordinary' units. We were in the front room of what used to be an old house. The room was large with beautiful, high pressed-tin ceilings. The bed was good, we also had a lounge on which to watch TV. It was all beautifully clean and although on a fairly major road was relatively quiet at night.

We had a room in main building rather than seperate motel unit which was fine. We had a studio room in the villa connected to the motel. The room had beautiful high ceilings and was tastefully decorated. Very comfortable bed, couch and excellent TV. The ensuite was rather small but well fitted and clean. Great to see the unit updated from my last visit. Really liked the new carpet and easy chairs. So much so I meant to ask them where they purchased the chairs from. Lovely friendly and chatty staff made me feel right at home. We were warmly greeted and ensured that we were happy with what we had booked. Unit was lovely and clean - fresh towels etc each day. Motel was close to ammenities. Specially liked the info book. Would definitely stay again. The staff were friendly and helpfull and the room was large with a wide selection of tv channels. Kitchen facilities where th best i have seen in a long tine and it was very quite. We would definitely stay this motel another time. Nice and handy to Beach and not too far out of the city. The cupboard with the fridge, toaster, tea & coffee making facilities was very small and difficult to use for anything other than tea and coffee. Nothing. There wasn't anything. Parking area in front of house a bit tight. the bed was very hard, I like a firm bed but this was like sleeping on a board. We could not get many channels on the the TV and some of the pictures were very pixulated along with broken speech of the presenter. I am not a very big person but I can imagine that a large person may have had trouble fitting into the toilet with any ease. Nothing really. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Fridge noise at night!. No complaints here. potato chips etc under the couch cushions, knife that looked like it had been used for drugs in draw in kitchen. stains on carpet. I don't like Dunedin. Decor very tired and in need of an update. We would never go back there again.
