Jenny and Jack the hosts at Bayfield Motels were very accomodating and friendly people. It made the stay at the motel very pleasant (even if it was for a couple of days). They allowed us a later check out (no extra charge), they drove us to the supermarket on our first night there (it was raining and cold) - all in all they are what made the bayfield motel a nice place to stay. Its not luxurious by any means, but it is comfortable and was worth the money we paid. Thank you Jenny and Jack you we.

I enjoyed our stay at Bayfield. It was very easy to find, handy to town and spacious. The beds were very comfortable, the TV was a 42inch, good shower and immaculate, full oven too. A two bedroom motel for $100 a night, Great!. The hostess was friendly, unit was clean and although the Motel was older style, it has undergone fairly extensive renovation such as newer carpets and tiling. It was very clean and quiet at night. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Wonderful that they would come into unit (if you were not back by 5.30pm) and closed drapes and put on heating!! Huge thank you for that. An older affordable motel with everything a family would need with really comfortable beds. Will stay again. Friendly and helpful owners. we have a hearing dog. Could be an issue but no problem. They pt us in a back unit away from the rest of teh units. Coincidence? Don't know but not a probl;em and suited us. Unit was big, comfortable, fairly spartan utensils, crockery, awkward parking for the car but we enjjoyed the stay and found the propietress efficuent and friendly. The hotel is located at the connection of downtown and otago penninsula. Just 10 mins drive to city center. There's supermarket, oil station around, very convenient. The hostel owner is very helpful. Since they are from China, the hostel is especially suitable for chinese tourists. Let us choose which unit we wanted. The place was very clean. It was ok for the night. Good heating plenty of beds to choose from. big tv and lots of beds. Near the party we were off too. Not a dislike exactly but it is an older style motel, even so it suited us very well. Nothing to dislike. It's a little out of town but no problem if you have transport. No wine glasses to use. Parking is a bit of an issue. Really just the car park being awkward and the minimal utensils and plates etc in the kitchen. Pretty good for the price really. Not particularly. Furniture is very outdated and smelled very musty. It is very old and in need of a makeover, in winter the 2000 watt heater in the lounge isn't big enough to heat the rooms. Shower pressure could be better. the motel rooms smelt of damp, the owner did give us a can of refresher. Could do with a good scrub everywhere and there were more cobwebs hanging from the roof and curtains than in my glass house!!!!. very dated and rough renovations. Had not removed empty packaging from new shower curtain this was left on a shelf in bathroom Had not replenished coffee/ tea so luckily had brought my own Carpet could do with a clean.
