Staff were most helpful and very courteous, Answered all my queries in an accurate and polite manner.Courtyard garden a delight the perfumes from Rhodos was most delightful. So peaceful and traffic noise minimal.Fabulous breakfast menu. The reception staff were most helpful - we wanted to book in early and although we couldn't we were offered an internet connection and were able to use it in the bar. We were allowed to leave our luggage while we went into town.
all reviews » I appreciated the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the cleanliness of the room, and the online facilities provided. I enjoyed the meals at the onsite restaurant. For me the location was excellent. Garden courtyard. Laundry on premises however perhaps another washer and dryer needed and make them coin operated but less expensive than the BP across the street. Quiet. it was in a great location for me as I had someone at the hospital. I needed to stay a couple more nights and the reception person was very helpful. Great effort by the manager to make a carpark available to us. I had requested this earlier via email and he stuck to his word!. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the kids play room was a real help and kept the children entertained all day!. great relaxing night very friendly bar staff very helpful restaurant staff quiet location so got good nights sleep. clean & roomy good service restaurant served good meals complimentary gym walking distance to city centre. There was absolutely nothing we found wrong with your hotel It was the best accommodation we stayed in during our two week holiday around the South Island. I have no complaints. Room at times had a musty, mildew smell, mostly near floor next to bed. Last night ran out of toilet paper. No spare roll. the bath room was very tired need to be tidied up around the top of the vanity unit. Room a bit pricy due to great demand with the Aerosmith concert. The bed was too soft for me and the room was too warm, so I didn't sleep that well. bathroom was clean and serviceable but could do with a makeover (esp taps). The showers - they would all of a sudden go boiling hot and I actually got burnt on my sholder. It could do with a spruce up in the rooms. bed was not comfortable.mattress sagging towards middle of bed. replacement of mattress and/or base required badly. asked for morning paper but did not get one which was OK as would not have had time to read it as morning events changed and no electric blanket on bed so was a bit cold after long drive down from CHCH. The Bed looked comfortable but was roll together, no good for anyone, to get a good night sleep. Ran out of hot water despite short shower. Other guests were very noisy. I was in a downstairs room, could hear everything that went on upstairs Would have liked the towels to have been changed daily. someway of filling the electric jug other than using a cup. Going outside along corridor to get to your room. All was Perfect. The 30min wait in the Restaurant for breakfast. Other got there breakfast before myself even though it was the same breakfast ordered. Very dated hotel rooms with poor lighting and a grimier look. Room was clean though, just old and a bit worn. The quality of the meal we had in the evening was very substandard and didn't live up to the write up. Cleaner did not change sheets Minimal parking due to wedding at hotel. Place looked tired, parking spaces limited, had to haul suitcases up stairs to get to room, not suitable for elderly, reception could be more welcoming. Paid same price for much more luxury in Auckland!. I did not like our inner blanket smelling of sick but the staff changed it. I also thought the charge for our room of just about $200 from $109 that was on your site just because of an event on in Dunedin was very poor and I think this should be looked at as the hotel is not a new hotel. The price was basically doubled due to an event in the city the night I stayed, No body to serve us at the bar, When I asked about getting some cash I was directed to the local shop. The noise from other rooms was audible and loud. Quality of restaurant food was not what I would describe as acceptable. To cover my lettuce salad and chips with a thick mushroom sauce is not on. I left most of it. Checkout systems need to be reviewed, it took far too long with reception entering a handfull of chitties. This should have been done before I arrived at the desk. Upkeep of room facilities not good ie, radio not working (only had high volume),kettle didn't work. Tv too high to see proprtly. Advertised as a hotel but was more like a budget motel but at hotel prices!.
