  I have stayed in around 20 different yha hostels in the world and this is the best I have ever stayed in. Excellent security ( all points of entry are covered including your dormitory!! Believe me, not all hostels offer that). So if you are looking for company, you are bound to - Located a short walk to upper broadway which is jam packed full of everything u could ask for. Everything !! short walk to the #1 subway line which takes u all the way down to battery park. There are housing projects directly behind thebuilding, but there was no trouble at all & that just added to the whole atmosphere of staying in ny. They put on several events on each day & night so u get to meet a lot of other travelers & explore in a group. There is an outlet & little shelf

  I felt very good there. It's not a typical hotel, each room is actually just a very small space of floor which is taken mostly of the bed and just a small cupboard, and the room is separated from the others just by a tiny wall. The atmosphere was great, the staff was very friendly. I guess, I got lucky with good "neighbours", so - This place can only be as good as the people who stay there - the walls between rooms in the sleeping area don't reach the ceiling and every sneeze is audiable to everyone (you can't hear check-in counter or lobby area, as they are in a different room). During my stay, the hotel was fully booked and the guests were backpackers from Canada, us and Europe. All guests were very quiet and considerate of others.   For the money we paid it was really good. New york hotels are expensive! For this price u cant expect that much. It was just a simple room with a bed, a sink and a tv but thats all you need for a couple of days. We stayed there for just one night. The staff was friendly so all in all it was a nice stay there. Though the bathroom could have been more cleaner but hey its a shared bathroom so - Great location in the middle of bustling Chinatown, with 3 subway stations within a 5 minute walk, and considerably cheaper than most Manhattan hotels. After all, in 'the City that Never Sleeps' you don't want to spend too much time in your hotel room!

  They do not have elevator, the internet is only in the lobby and the breakfast is too simple, but almost all of this are cited in the hotel description. So, I recomend this hotel because it was exactly I expected. My bad grade to the cleaness was because of the bathrooms. The room is cleaned every day, and the hotel have new painting and clean halls - Friendly guys at reception, possibility to leave suitcase there after check-out (for $4), there was even breakfast included in the price (very very basic though, but all I need in the morning is a coffee to get me going :-), easy to meet fellow travellers (the people staying there were all really communicative and friendly and interesting to talk to) in the lounge, which is the only place to get free wifi on your mobile or laptop in the hostel

  I booked a queen single room to share the evenings with a girlfriend. Place was not the easiest to find and from the outside really did not look great. However, inside was clean and quiet. Staff are not around much and I didn't mind. I was very happy with my private room as it was clean, quiet and comfortable.   Hey! I want to thank you guys for everything (booking.com and Westway Hotel) I had such amazing time. It was my first time traveling alone, but Westway hotel staff made me feel like I was home, they even helped me finding another "solo traveler" in the hotel so we could sightseeing together, who does that? One block away from the bus stop, and it will take you to the subway station in less than 10 m - The beds are confortable. The M60 bus stop is near and then in Manhattan is easy to take the M15 to go anywhere pratically. Close to La Guardia and JFK. The bathrooms are really nice.

  The hostel made solo traveller feels at ease. It is near the metro station and make the travelling easier. The hostel staff is friendly. Staying in the shared room in the hostel was overall a pleasant experience as this was my first time. It's more economical.
