The Inn was surprisingly exciting, different, homely and very memorable. We felt we were really in Hawaii, not just another hotel or resort. Irene was very interesting, warm and friendly. She was very generous with her time, information about the area and booked a lava walk tour for us. We loved her animals, including cats and rooster and the gard

A very friendly B&B in Pahoa, the innkeeper, Irene, was super
friendly and helpful. I was feeling ill the day I arrived from a week-
long cold, and Irene made me ginger tea immediately. I felt so much
better the next day. It's a motherly touch that a large resort
cannot replicated (which I stayed at before arriving at Lava Tree).
It's something so small as that that can change your entire vacation
and make it bettter. The home was clean and the breakfast was delicious.

This was our first trip to Maui from Canada and I booked our stay at the
Courtyard because I knew we would be tired after travelling for so many
hours. As it was our flights were delayed and we were so thankful the
hotel was only a minute drive from the airport. The staff was excellent

The staff were very helpful with their suggestions on where to go for
dinner, etc. I also liked that Starbucks Coffee was on site. Other hotel
coffees tend to miss the mark. This is so important when you wake up and
need to get your day started! I also loved the onsite laundry facilities
- it helps keep clothes fresh since we go through many clothes with the
heat and humidity.

A fantastic location (enhanced by our free up grade to an ocean view room - right on the beach with the sunrise in our window). We were lucky enough to be upgraded to room 208. This a one bedroom suite above the lobby, that weirdly enough comes with it's own dedicated car space. It was a great room...spotless, well designed, had a great view of the ocean, and a comfortable bed. We only stayed two nights, and wished we could have stayed longer. For us, this hotel was far better than the Marriott Courtyard, which is located in the same area.

The hotel is lovely, nice rooms, comfy bed. They gave us a complimentary room upgrade for our honeymoon. They are renovating at the moment so I imagine it will be more modern look in the future. The pool and beach are fantastic and loved the pool bar. Cocktails delicious! -

Free shuttle to and from airport is great. Our room was neat and clean
and the bed was very comfortable. Liked the fact that there was a
laundry room on our floor ( we did one load of wash), and for future
reference noted the microwave, empty refrigerator and coffee maker in
the room. The little store downstairs had a good selection of items,

We stayed for one night before continuing on with our vacation. Loved the size of the hotel, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, nice room, lovely pool area. Enjoyed walking in the area and going to Byron's. We would definately stay here again and will highly recommend it to our friends. We walked thru the Best Western but preferred your hotel, less busy and more personal and friendly. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Was just a one night stay leaving Honolulu early in the morning... staff great, helped with info to get into town, room great, clean, comfortable, and free pick up from airport on way back from islands, and then early drop off at 5 am... -

Maui is a beautiful small island and Kahului is conveniently located to explore the many sites it has to offer or get on exiting tours.
The hotel has an excellent activity desk that helps book tours/shuttles and advises which sites to visit.
The bus service from Kahului is good and cheap to visit the south side of the island for swimming or snor

The hotel room appeared to have been refurbished fairly recently. -
Staff was very polite. Rooms were clean beds made bathrooms clean. Saturday night prime rib and crab buffet was excellent. Very affordable and the setting was very nice. Should I ever visit Maui again I will be sure to stay at Maui beach hotel.
