the absolutely best breakfast we had experienced on our trip, we could find even fresh fruit, hot pie and boiled eggs!!! the staff was superfriendly, the room a dream-quiet, very large and cozy bed, clean and top value for the money!!! we're looking forward to come back!

The location was excellent, far enough from the main street to be quiet but close enough to walk to dinner. Breakfast was excellent with freshly baked muffins daily.
Room was fine with a very comfortable bed, a touch on the small side but not an issue for one night.

Loved the historic/rustic feel so perfect for Carmel. Cosy cottages

we loved everything about our stay. we loved how each room was a separate little cottage. we loved the fireplace, the hot tub, and the food basket. the staff was friendly. we had our own parking space and the price was perfect and didn't require a minimum stay. oh, and it was pet friendly. we could walk to town and get some exercise in because it wasn't too close to town. we loved this place and will definitely be back. we have told several people about it already.

We loved meeting Nicha and Mike who made us feel welcome and like old friends. The location was convenient for walking to all of the great art galleries & shops. We felt at home with the beautiful quilts on the beds. The kitchenette was wonderful and decorated with touches of a time long ago. Quaint & darling. -

Nicely updated rooms, kind of a mix between Spanish Colonial and
California Native style. Bathrooms are updated with stone masonry
throughout and updated fixtures. Walk in shower and bath tub. Huge (for
hotel standards) flat screen, wall-mounted led tv, and hd channels.
Beautiful onsite swimming pool and gym. Grounds are beautiful, staff was
very friendly and accomodating.

We loved the welcome we received. We were made to feel at home right from the start.
Tracy poured us both a huge glass of wine and that set the scene for a wonderful stay.
Everything was spotless.
The breakfasts were good and the staff really friendly and helpful.
We especially loved the family atmosphere of the place.

Amazing value for the money. The staff was excellent - friendly and
helpful. Complimentary cheese and wine to start your evening, and a
simple, tasty breakfast in the morning. We stayed in Room 4 (one of the
smallest rooms on the upper floor with the slanted ceiling) and it was
more than enough room for two people. Very clean and the bed was
comfortable. I looked at a lot of B&Bs in Carmel and this was more
affordable than most. Also, it's only two blocks from the beach and

We celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary. Room was very nice and comfortable, the staff was helpful and friendly. So nice to be close to all downtown shopping and especially liked the grocery story so close. Quite and very lovely place to stay. -

Amazing!!
Relaxation at its best! Serenity flows from the outdoors and into the room with the flowing water features. Simply put- one of the best places for rest and recovery. I have recommended it to colleagues and family and friends. It's one of Carmel's hidden little gems. -

We loved the spaciousness of our room - we had a lovely little dining room and a kitchenette. The luggage storage area was fantastic, especially since we had a LOT of it with us.
The patio outside the room was a wonderful place to have breakfast, right along with the seagulls.
The people of Hofsas House were warm and welcoming.
I would absolutely stay there again.

The location, ambience, delicious breakfast , and excellent service. We brought our bikes to cycle while there. They stored them, gave us bottled water, brought them out for us, put them back in storage, brought them out at the end of our stay. Over-the-top amazing!! -

Charming setting, amidst an enchanting neighborhood. The beach, just a
block away was stunning. Close to the beautiful Pacific Coastline,
restaurants and Hwy 1. The room was lovely along with the setting of
the entire Inn. Gorgeous gardens. The staff was wonderful and extremely
courteous. And... The breakfast was beyond my expectations. I would not
only recommend The Colonial Terrace to friends, but would like to
return again.
