The room was cozy, quaint,warm, and charming. The fireplace added to the romance. I personally like the fact that there was no 50 inch flat sreen TV staring me in the face and laughed out loud when I finally found the 18 inch TV tucked in a cupboard in the corner (I certainly didn't come to Carmel to space out in front of a sitcom). The Inn was very easy to find and had good parking for inside area as
well as close street side parking. All staff was courteous and helpful.
The breakfast was excellent and was included in cost. Late into the
evening my daughter needed to get something from car and I noticed the
police patrolled the area so I felt very safe and secure. The beach was
located a few blocks down the street from the Inn and was easily within
walking distance. The whole area is Beautiful!

We were incredibly impressed with the attention given to what really
makes someone comfortable away from home. The heated floor in the bath,
the jacuzzi tub, the pillow choices, wonderful linens, incredibly
comfortable patio furniture on our balcony, etc. Unless something
changes, Tally Ho will always be our first choice in Carmel by the Sea. -

Nicely updated rooms, kind of a mix between Spanish Colonial and
California Native style. Bathrooms are updated with stone masonry
throughout and updated fixtures. Walk in shower and bath tub. Huge (for
hotel standards) flat screen, wall-mounted led tv, and hd channels.
Beautiful onsite swimming pool and gym. Grounds are beautiful, staff was
very friendly and accomodating.

Amazing!!
Relaxation at its best! Serenity flows from the outdoors and into the room with the flowing water features. Simply put- one of the best places for rest and recovery. I have recommended it to colleagues and family and friends. It's one of Carmel's hidden little gems. -

Breakfast basket was welcomed in the morning. Very nice accommodation with everything you need. We were recommended to go to Vesuvio in Carmel in the evening but it was basic food and a flat atmosphere. Carmel of a dark evening is not the best place to find your way about so aim to get there early and get your bearings. -

The breakfast baskets in the mornings were delicious and they made life even more relaxing with breakfast in bed! And we could even see the ocean from our room!

Charming setting, amidst an enchanting neighborhood. The beach, just a
block away was stunning. Close to the beautiful Pacific Coastline,
restaurants and Hwy 1. The room was lovely along with the setting of
the entire Inn. Gorgeous gardens. The staff was wonderful and extremely
courteous. And... The breakfast was beyond my expectations. I would not
only recommend The Colonial Terrace to friends, but would like to
return again.

We loved the spaciousness of our room - we had a lovely little dining room and a kitchenette. The luggage storage area was fantastic, especially since we had a LOT of it with us.
The patio outside the room was a wonderful place to have breakfast, right along with the seagulls.
The people of Hofsas House were warm and welcoming.
I would absolutely stay there again.

We arrived before check-in time, and our room was not ready as we had
anticipated. Still, staff was very apologetic. Noting from the
reservation that it was our 51st Wedding Anniversary that day, they

The staff was friendly and helpful. There is no elevator at the hotel, and the bellman carried both of our large, heavy suitcases to our room with a smile on his face. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was excellent. The hotel was centrally located within Carmel, and it was very easy to walk to the beach and the shops/restaurants in town. A charming experience.

From the outside, the hotel looks more motel but what a surprise on the inside! We got upgraded to a cottage which was fantastic - lots of space, a patio and a great place to relax and spend the night.
