  We absolutely loved our stay at Polynesian Plaza! Rooms are nice& definately adequate despite negative reviews! Excellent value for money and in the perfect location for shopping in town. The room we had included a mini kitchenette (2 stove tops, microwave, toaster, fridge etc) and also has a lovely pool which we spent a lot of time at and th... what people say » e beach is just a 5min walk away. The room also has air conditioning to cool the room which was great, without this, we wouldn't have been able to st - My stay at the Polynesian Plaza was wonderful. I wasn't expecting a lot as I was looking for accommodation at a reasonable price. The location was perfect, the staff was excellent and the room was fine. Especially the rooms facing Kalakaua Ave with the balcony as we got a brilliant view of the Halloween festivities on our last night their. I certainly recommend the Polynesian Plaza to anyone seeking something along the lines of what I have highlighted in this review.

  The total ambience with all the antiques and shutters and the lovely deck abutting our room was wonderful and it was very quiet and yet close to all the shopping, restaurants, tourist ventures etc. Our room was always clean and a nice place to stay. She is a true professional and deserves - The hotel staff at the front desk was very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay such a pleasure. Katherine and Anne were the best hostesses ever! The restaurant had a variety of good food. We enjoyed sitting in the open portion where we could watch the waterfront activity.

  Maui is a beautiful small island and Kahului is conveniently located to explore the many sites it has to offer or get on exiting tours. The hotel has an excellent activity desk that helps book tours/shuttles and advises which sites to visit. The bus service from Kahului is good and cheap to visit the south side of the island for swimming or snor... what people say » keling. The hotel room appeared to have been refurbished fairly recently. - Staff was very polite. Rooms were clean beds made bathrooms clean. Saturday night prime rib and crab buffet was excellent. Very affordable and the setting was very nice. Should I ever visit Maui again I will be sure to stay at Maui beach hotel.

  Location great, and the restaurants and shops on the ground floor were a plus - the Creme Pot is charming and convenient for breakfast. Staff was very helpful and friendly, went out of their way to be accommodating. Great view of the city from upper floors. - The staff is Excellent! : ) I keep coming. : )

  I appreciate the hard work each staff member put into making the facilities clean and beautiful, with a friendly atmosphere. And, it's close to a great smoothie shop!! Parking was affordable and beaches accessible with an enjoyable walk. - Location; price; size of bed and size of room; very clean; but the best thing of this hotel is the old lady ... what people say » singing during breakfast.   Excellent place full of greenery with really helpful staff as well. They even lent us the Guidebook for Kauai for us to use! Excellent location!Very close to airport and from where you can take the helicopter for a tour!! Bbq and laundry facilities..plus free unlimited juices coffee and tea and bananas waiting for you all day long Strongly recomme... what people say » nd it! - Always enjoy staying here for one or two nights when we visit Kauai. We usually stay a couple weeks a year on the south side, then spend the last couple nights here to avoid the traffic to airport and take in the local restaurants. Any traffic accident can close the main highway from south side for hours and you miss your flight.

  Uncle Billy's has character! Lovely central garden and great view of it and the bay from the breakfast area. I love the papayas at breakfast time. Very pretty lounge. The free hibiscus blossoms are a nice touch. Coconut Willy's was our beer hangout. I really enjoyed the slack key guitar playing by Ben Kaili and the malasadas made by Baker Tom.   I was very pleased with this motel. The rooms were clean [very important], we had a corner room that had 2 ac units, and the there were multiple electrical outlets for charging our various electronic devices. Nice view of the Hawaiian mountains. The wifi was also very acceptable. We walked to the hotel from the airport [only about a 25 minute walk... what people say » ]. I loved the three-way mirror in the bathroom - helps when drying hair.   The location cannot be beat close to the beaches market and shops. It was like living in a botanical garden beautiful plants flowers and amazing pool.   The hotel has a great location. It is located on a beach, about 10 minutes from the airport, and about equal distance to the end of the highway in the north and to the west. Passing in front of the hotel is a pedestrian walkway on which one can walk to a small commercial center for dining and shopping.   Location was very good, a couple of steps from the beach. Unit was good and had a lot of additional stuff like beach chairs, a small wagon (very useful), picnic cooler, bodyboards etc. Basically everything you need while going to beach. Although it is listed as not having Wi-Fi, actually our unit had free Wi-Fi.
