The location cannot be beat close to the beaches market and shops. It was like living in a botanical garden beautiful plants flowers and amazing pool. Walking down the pathway from the lobby to the beach was like walking thru a sweet little jungle ... I loved it! The Kona Islander Inn is like a gem in the middle of town. I will stay there again and will recommend this to my family and friends.
all reviews » The room quality ranges from 1 star to 5 stars, each with increasing price. It would be helpful if this were advertised on letsbookhotel.com. Luckily the hotel had a better room available than the one star unit we first saw. The location is outstanding and convenient to everything! The staff is very friendly as well! The ocean view studios are good. Loved the location and the lobby for internet and the pool area and the grounds were so nicely maintained. Awesome condo for such low price. Great location. Many shopping places are pretty close to ali'i drive. Being partially disabled my room was still hard to get to. Location to events being held and easy access to property. For the price everything was great. easy access to everything. Great pool and hot tub. the grounds were nice. I like the grounds which are real beautifull and well kept. The location cannt be beat if you want to stay in town. The lobbby area is real nice, open air, giving the real hawaii experience. Location, price, kitchenette facilities, tike tourches at night. In the 4 nights that I stayed there there was no one changing bedding towels or garbage..or providing coffee ...but really in the end I liked the sustainable aspect and privacy of this. Not all units are the same. Can't depend on all units to be stocked or furnished with what you need to cook with. T.P, paper towels and garbage bags not furnished if longer than a couple of days!. The room was clean BUT it was extremely run-down, with worn out and extremely sparse and unpleasant furnishings. not a room that was a pleasant tropical experience. The internet access is good only in the common area near office. Although I didn't browse much, I'd prefer fast internet connection inside the condo as well. Not that easy to get to. Would be beneficial to know that no toiletries available, extra toilet paper, towels (set of three and not for four people). Also, the pull out bed mattress should be replaced because laying in it, no firmness and felt rods of frame. The condo that we stayed in was really run down, the flooe in the bathroom was coming up and the shower was really stained!. nothing; good enough for the price!. I stayed in 118 and it needs some serious updating. The carpet needs replacing. The shower needs serious cleaning or replacing. The molding in bathroom is falling off the walls. Unit needs more comfortable seating. Met our expectations. Bed was horrible--Need to seriously upgrade. Good night sleep is important. Wi fi only in the lobby! Sheets very old And used!. Out dated and felt like the owner of the condo did not want me there or to touch/use anything. Bathroom door didn't close. Plumbing was an issue. Cheap toilet paper. Staff was snotty and rude, made us feel very unwelcome . Bed was uncomfortable and creaked a lot, and had cheap, thin bedding. nothing. Kind of expensive for an average hotel. water presure way to low! a/c to noisy vibraites wall! beds sqeek with every move. Although I understand these are privately owned units being rented out, the furniture, bed, carpet, interior was old and just didn't feel that clean. We were very disappointed with being moved from the room we originally reserved (we had requested a quiet room) to a room on the parking lot which was very noisy. We were also very disappointed with the facilities in the room (room 101). There was no fan, few dishes or silverware, etc. It was very basic compared to the other rooms. Staff was rude. Website does not imply wifi in lobby only, this should be made clear. I became locked into the toilet due to a malfunctioning pocket door. This was clearly not a new issue as it was obvious many attempts at repairs had been made unsuccessfully. I have photos if anyone is interested. The customer service is terrible. While waiting in line to check in, I observed a guest being totally disregarded and not even an apology for the disservice. We were traveling with a few others and rented a total of 6 rooms. We were traveling with two children with disabilities and were asked To keep our children quiet. We were not allowed to use the pool facilities because we were told that we were too loud. I am disappointed in the service and the absence of the aloha spirit. did not like t he 3rd floor (TOO MANY STEPS) room was average,. The room was dirty. Bed sheets were worn and tattered. I woke up bitten by bugs. No one was around at check out. Quite run down. Unhygenic kitchenette/bathroom arrangement with no washbasin, just kitchen sink. Most floor tiles cracked. Wish website had identified it as privately owned - I see it does now - as discovered no coffee/tea, shampoo and limited supply of toilet tissue. Our room was quite dumpy and not well looked after. Your kitchenette sink was also your bathroom sink and the shower curtain was a joke. Water went wherever it wanted and the bottom of the shower basin was black with mold! There was also no wifi Internet anywhere despite saying on your website that there was wifi available to purchase for $3 a day. There was also an unfriendly sign posted in the lobby saying there was no wifi and not to ask when it would be fixed because they didn't know. I arrived at night 9 pm and the bed was not made. The matraze standed upright in the room and a bad smell in the room. there was just the guard who had no sheets for the bed, we searched a room and i slept in a bed somebody else allready used. The rooms old and dirty. Dirty showers Never used the shower.
