The hotel was remarkably clean, the shower was strong, the bed was good, the personell friendly. And those happen to be the most important attributes ;) The 'cabine' was bigger than we expected. There was enough room to walk around and even to leave your luggage open. This is necessary as there was no cabinet to put your clothes etc. The lounge terrace and the restaurant where great looking and a nice place to have your breakfast. One thing you should know: the terrace/restaurant are sometimes.
all reviews » Loved the hotel. Beds very comfortable and super idea that they move in or out to give more room. Room had everything we needed. I was there with my 23 year old daughter for a mother and daughter break and we found the hotel perfect for what we wanted. Clean, comfortable and close enough to everywhere. We even walked as far as the plaza. The hotel car taking us back to the airport was great and more comfortable and we felt much safer with the driver than our journey from airport to hotel by yel. The cleaning staff are great at their job and kind. The room is very practical and utilizes space well, particularly the bed. We loved the shower pressure and the soaps used; they had a wonderful smell! The location makes it easy to get to times square and other modes of transportation to get around in the city. We also appreciated the complimentary coffee, tea and variety of muffins in the morning; this was a big plus. In addition, the galleys on the floor with a shared refrigerator, coffee/te. The hotel was nice, it offered a young, funky, fresh appeal to it. It felt safe, the staff were very accommodating and made every effort to help and assist where they could. I dealt with a lady called Linda who was fantastic and really helped me out. My stay was perfect and i could nt have asked for a better hotel. The location was perfect just away from Times Square but right in the heart of the vibrant busy "Hells Kitchen" - It offered lots of nice places to eat and drink but not with the ad. This was my 3rd visit to ny in the past 3 years. We we staying in a "premium cabin-double bunk" and were traveling with 3 people (me my wife and my brother). This hotel was clean and well maintained. Very helpful and friendly staff. Super location, just a 5-10 minute walk to times square. Great coffee and hot beverages on every floor for guests (have traveled a few times to the states and they rarely seem to get the coffee right like we do in Europe). Great view of ny skyline from our room on t. We really enjoyed our time at Yotel. The hotel is super modern with checkin and checkouts at the machine. The room is not so big, but enough for a couple. The room view was amazing! Every floor has a room with a coffee machine, water/ice and soda. This room also has a refrigerator and a microwave. The breakfast has muffins and coffee, they were really good. The hotel has a good localization, it is far enough to be quiet at night and close enough go to Times Square, Port Authority and other plac. Yotel is cool, has got well designed rooms or cabins and has an excellent service. The staff is great. The beds are comfy, the view from the 23rd floor was awesome. Every floor has a kitchen Galley where you can grab a tea, coffee, hot chocolate or icewater. On the fourth floor you can have breakfast. Fantastic muffins and coffee or tea are free. Especially the Almond and Blueberry Muffins are great ;-) WIfi works perfect and you can use the computers Four and even print out a flyer our ticke. From the reservation, Pre-arrival Crew and the concierge helped me with all my questions, trips arrangements. Always smiling crew helped us witht he bags and the check in right at the entrance. Spanish-speaking crew. Wide room, super clean, and really handy for all the guests (move over iPod docking station, thanks yotel for thinking of Blackberry users). Rooms were super-clean and well-planned so it actually doesn't feel small. Bed was very comfy! It's a short walk from times square, although the street that the hotel is on is not busy like times square so it is a perfect location. Around there's a lot of good restaurants, bars, cafés and quick-eat-places. Everything in this hotel feels very thought-through, and the staff were caring. Loved that it also had free coffee and water in a room on the sa. We stayed for 3nights. It's 5mins walk from Times Square and 9th avenue , next road, was great for bars. Also less than 5mins walk to the subway. Friendly staff. Really funky hotel. Great for a few days. Rooms were not too small for a city. Could even link iPod to play music in the room (volume limit to stop you waking the neighbours). We didn't hear any noise. If you want a nice clean hotel with a funky playful look that is not luxury but really nice then go here. Great views of the city for o. The hotel is in a perfect location. 8 minute walk to the pier and the Hudson River, 10-15 minute walk to Time Sq. And many locations. Right next to the Port Authority Bus Terminal / Tube station where every bus/train seems to stop and 1 street away from Hertz and Avis drop off points. The room is small but well designed so everything seems to magically fit and work well! The galley and breakfast bar ideas are original and practical. Checked in and out using the terminals in under 5 minutes. Staff were very friendly & helpfull. They helped us with luggage on arrival & stored our luggage on check out for free. The hotel has all facilities you may need & all processes are computerised. Actually new experience for us to have check in & out by machine as well as luggage storage. Firstly, I thought the staff were most helpful from the beginning of the trip until we departed.I can't praise them enough! I liked the rooms-very comfortable, clean (regularly checked and cleaned daily). The gallery where you could get coffee/water etc was a nice touch. I used the gym and was impressed-a number of machines, clean and had lots of clean towels etc. The luggage storage service was great. Yotel is right where you need to be in the middle of everything, sightseeing, shopping - discovering NYC! The rooms are cleverly designed to fit everything into a minimum of space without it feeling cramped. And the rooms are completely silent - quite amazing in the middle of Manhattan! I LOVED it and would highly recommend it and deffinately go back for more of the Yotel ambiance!. The hotel had some funny details, like Yobot - a robot who takes care of your luggage if you need to store it. At the reception they have a guy selling tickets to all sorts of guided tours, shows etc. An easy way to get good tips on what to visit. The bed that turns into a sofa to have some extra needed space in the room. It is close to Times Square, approx 10 minutes of walking. very bright cabin with comfortable bed and 2 bunks. frosted glass door to bathroom with a warmed towel rack and rain showerhead. Large windows allowed lots of sunlight. Galley next door had a good cappuccino and hot chocolate machine...for free! Youthful atmosphere. Club music by elevator. Lots of space to socialize on FOUR. Yobot is fun to watch the storage of luggage. Everything was great with this hotel, would recommend it to anyone. Location was within walkin distance of Time Sq and other places you might like to go to. Cabin beds very comfortable. We had a 3 person cabion so I can only comment on this. We were next door to the galley for all the tea and coffe you want and it was not noisy at any time. it was a perfect experience, I highly recommend to everyone. it is a really different and new hotel, room was clean, bed was comfortable, location is great, there is gallery in all flats that you can get free good coffee, free wifi and price is reasonable compared to all facilities. in addition we had a great view in 19th floor. Convenient location, clean and efficient rooms; heated towel rack was a nice feature. Though small, the room had all the usual hotel necessities: iron & ironing board, hair dryer, soaps, etc. The "coffee room" on each floor was really nice - coffees, lattes, hot chocolate were all good, and accessible 24 hours a day. The hotel was very clean and modern, and although the bedrooms were quite small, they definitely made very good use of the space. The atmosphere, from walking into the hotel on the ground floor, to the fourth floor mission control, to their bar, all the way to the rooms on the higher floors, was just fantastic. The breakfast in the morning was really great, even if the coffee is very quickly gone... but waiting for fresh one was usually quick. The rooms are very quiet... for New York that is a real plus. Perfect location... check the 9th avenue for really restaurants in the evening... 5 min walk. We will go back... Great hotel! Kind crew, confortable cabins, hightech decor! Liked the location right off 42nd street, near the west river walkway and close to transportation and restaurants, etc. The location of the hotel was fantastic and such great value for that part of Manhattan. We were greeted by very helpful staff at reception who upgraded our room to a better standard. The rooms had everything we needed. Comfortable bed and powerful shower. I liked everything about this hotel!!! Especially the fact that they will check you in earlier if the room is ready. We got to the hotel 9am and were able to go to our room right away! The room is very well equipped, even with aux cable to connect portable devices to the TV. Very hi-tech hotel. There are automatic check in and check out and even a robot to store the bags. Loved all the marketing touches - the get up and get down body washes; the get to know Yotel in 5 minutes file; the cabins and how the beds were retractable yet still comfortable; staff were extremely approachable and helpful and friendly. You could take your breakfast wherever you liked, suitable for taking away, the alley instead of minibar, free wi-fi and the 4 computers in the lobby for common use, convenient location, the view from the 23rd floor,the layout of the room. The hotel was in a great location. Walking distance to times square and very close to 9 Ave which had a variety of cheap decent eating and drinking establishments. The hotel was clean and the rooms were well designed and comfortable. The room design was fabulous...small rooms but so efficiently and uniquely laid out that you didn't feel cramped and had all of the storage space you needed for a short stay; and we loved the 4th floor gathering space and restaurant. I loved the design and decor. Smart, contemporary, hip, funky. Great. I loved the terrace/patio and outdoor seating. I like the free muffins in the morning too--they didn't taste like free muffins. All taxi drivers know the purple lights!. This is a fantastic hotel, great price and location, small rooms but modern with a great use of space. Particularly suitable for young couple. Rooms very small but with a nice design. Very appreciated the complimentary breakfast with fresh muffins. Location was excellent. I call was attended immediately with immediate action. Very clean and relaxing place. It was worth spending. Across the road I found Cv pharmacy which had everything and subway food. Yotel offers a young enlightened environment. The interior decor as well as the dominant colour white lets you feel relieved and easy. Majority of the staff is very young though experienced and proficient. Clean rooms ( and no bedbugs!) Simple functional design. Comfortable beds; even the ladder to the bunk was solid and easy to use. Liked the galley, with good coffee machine. Overall experience was great. It was a shame that on our last day there was a private party and we weren't allow to enter the terrace to drink our last cocktail before leaving. It shouldn't be such a problem to allow a handful of hotel guests like they did on another party that week. The only thing we didnt like was that we didnt get a reply to our email requesting a pick up from the airport. This would have been better for us. I recommend the bar stay open later during the weekdays, particularly for late night snacks and drinks if possible. Also, it would be good if the safe was a little larger or if the shape was changed to horizontal to accommodate more. My only faults were the level of cleanliness in my room if I was to be picky. it could have had a bit more of a deeper clean. Apart from that it was perfect. Glass door of the bathroom. (No problem for couples but would not recommend if going with friends or for business). There are no frigobar at the room, so we left some food in the refrigerator at the public room in our floor, but in the second night someone took it. Check out at 11am. The only thing I did not really appreciate was that the toilet did not feel private. For me it wasn't a problem, but I could see that it might have been if I would have to share the room with someone. And also.. the elevators were amazingly slow. May be able to hear noise along corridors if you had noisy neighbours walking along. However we heard nothing. When having breakfast during the last hour of the breakfast window we always missed the chocolate muffins! An observation more than a complaint... The size of the room was so tiny. I felt like i was in london. No space at all for luggage & the bathroom installed inside the room. Very embarssing to go to bathroom. The bed wasn't that comfortable & actually it is a convertable couch. Not recommended for long stay. Maximum stay 2 days if you will hang out most of the day. I didn't like the way the hotel turned into a semi night-club/disco on the Saturday night. We went for a drink in the bar and it was packed and we paid 20 dollars for two bottles of beer. Glass doors to the bathroom. There´s no way to be private. The room (cabin) were really small, but it was okey thanks to many funny solutions for storage etc. Yotel should allow access all 5 elevators during busy times ie morning rush as people wait a long time with only 2-3 elevators functioning. Lack of privacy - only a thin curtain to separate the bath from the rest of the room. The futon-style mattress was not very comfortable. The hotel is fairly new, but shows signs of wear: there was some mildew in the shower,the built-in clock was broken, and the room phone did not work. It took 3 requests and 3 days to get staff to come check the phone and re-set it. We didn't book for longer. The curtain separating the 'bedroom' with the 'bathroom' - I honestly think a door would've been better to preserve privacy. The lifts (only 5) can be very crowded in the morning and you usually have to wait... Would be nice to have a more affordable in-hotel dining option as an alternative to the fancy restaurant. We like EVERYTHING about this hotel - beats every other one in NYC hands down!. Small space. My mom (who is in her late 70s) bumped her head on the corner of the overhead bunk bed no less than 10 times over the 4 days we stayed at Yotel. She wasn't hurt, but it's a bit of a nuisance for the space to be so limited. We also prefer for the shower to be more powerful. Would also like for the cabin to add a exhaust fan in the restroom. Although the rooms seemed to block out the sounds from outside the hotel, we were always awakened in the morning by guests on our floor leaving and coming back to their rooms (the doors closing and the guests talking). Lack of comfortable seating on "fourth" floor for breakfast. You had to sit in specific areas depending on wjat type of breakfast you opted for. Cost of beer and wine slightly expensive. Loved the outdoor space but didn't appreciate its use for most of the day as a restaurant/bar without allocating space for those staying at the hotel. I appreciated the muffins and coffee for breakfast but didn't appreciate the space allocated to those who wanted to pay for breakfast. There was nothing big at all which we didn't like. Perhaps a bigger bed but that's nit-picking!. The door between the bathroom and the rest of the cabin is not sealed... The same muffins every morning, better if offered something else alternate, no privacy in restroom but this is not a problem for every couple, the noise from the closing doors. Nothing. The elevator wait was extremely slow at peak times....They seem to need more to accommodate the number of guests. The breakfast was very expensive for what it was. The only other thing is that there were no yellow cabs anywhere near the hotel and when it was raining it was very inconvenient. We asked a taxi driver why and he said that the hotel requested that no yellow cabs were to go there, only the black expensive dodgy ones. No breakfast buffet. Just muffins. Limited paid breakfast options (just a few positions on the menu). Omlette is not made of eggs. The bed was a little bit hard but not too bad at all. Lifts sometimes took a while but other than that amazing!. the rooms are small and there is not refrigerator in the rooms. I wasn't crazy about the location. Seemed a bit out of the way. Not a terribly long walk to Times Square, but there wasn't much to do in the surrounding areas. The rooms are quite small and we missed a real closet. N/a. Room could be cleaner. Nothing at all. Top bunk could use a small shelf and a reading light. Maybe a small folding or pullout chair for the third person. A fan for the open bathroom might add a sense of more privacy.
