Everything! We especially loved the bunk room set up! We traveled with two parents and two adult boys 18 & 20. We all wanted to stay in the same room but a typical 2 double bed set up in most hotels would not have worked and having two rooms in a typical hotel would have meant us being apart and would have extremely expensive. I even looked into a short term apt rental. This room set up was perfect! We all had our own comfy full size bed with great linens plus our own little flat screen tvs.
all reviews » Stayed there for my birthday and was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! The level of customer service was top notch! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is swanky and done right from the artwork in the lobby to the, spa, to the rooms, to the restaurant and nightclub. It truly is a one stop shop experience. The surprise of a skating rink justblew me over! The hotel isactually indoor/ outdoor! The room are a nice size with a gorgeous bathroom. The heaters are a little loud . I love a funky, cool hotel with a great vibe. I like to stay at a hotel that has a great bar/lounge/restaurant in the lobby with buzz of energy. This hotel had it all & I love the clean lines, great outdoor space, gym. I ate dinner on Wed, August 14th around 9:00pm & the waiter was absolutely unbelievably friendly. I don't remember his name, but I remember he was from Virginia. I could not believe how large the room, bathroom & shower was considering so many hotel rooms are so s. Excellent staff, beautiful room and amenities you don't find in any franchise hotels at often less the cost. They have a spa, sauna and hot tubs as well as beautiful outdoor areas for rest and relaxation. I stay at the OUT every time I visit the city and have never had a negative experience. I am still impressed, having stayed in many hotels, how incredibly clean the entire hotel is. It's a high end experience for much less than you would spend elsewhere. The location is central to all of the b. Fantastic staff greeted us immediately and offered to hold our bag while we ate and went out while our room was prepared. They also gave us the option of checking in right then, but we were grateful that they were honest that the room would hear noise from the club. When we returned, we were offered a free cocktail. Restaurant/bar also had great staff and decent prices for nyc. Room was clean and cozy. I forgot my wallet in the room after we checked out and got a call from Kevin, who made sure . Plush, clean, gay, liked roommate, (stranger from China), service. Good ADA, (Americans With Disabilities Act), compliance- highest in hostels. I use a wheelchair, am low vision, have cognitive deficits from a traumatic brain injury, and have a service dog. Staff accommodated all graciously and knowledgeably. I stayed in the mixed dorm. It gave me an opportunity to save money. Fantastic ... great beds, Towels supplied and soap. Ample locked storage Wardrobe for my case. I Mostly had the room to myself. People sharing were nice and everyone tends to be out exploring. The place is by HK where I wanted to be and only a short 15 min walk from time sq. In addition to my last raves, this time I basked in the sun and Jacuzzi at the Spa. It was beautiful, with fantastic staff. Again, staff were superb in accommodation to my needs in a wheelchair, with a service dog, and in great pain. Everything was tasteful, artistic, open, healing, peaceful, flexible, and restoring a sense of delight and pampering. I want to invite guests, celebrate a birthday here. I can't wait to go back. This $50 complimentary day pass for guests further increases the valu. Wow, so much was just exceptional at the Out NYC. everyone was just so friendly and helpful and genuinely so. I loved the shared rooms; loved the practicality and the comfort of this space at a fraction of the cost, plus I was lucky to have a great roommates. The spa and spa facilities are just something else - absolutely fantastic and the facilities come as part of your package with your hotel stay. Plus, it is literally a stone throw away from Times Square! The Out NYC...very impressive. Awesome expereince! I like the resort like hotel in a concrete jungle. It's away from the busiest and noisiest part of Times Square and yet it's within walking distance and the short walk from Times Square is very pleasant. Many policemen in the area which makes you feel safe. The bar tender in the bar served me well and what a great bar tender he is !!. The bed was quite comfortable; one of the better ones I have enjoyed during my many and frequent travels for business. The fitness center, spa, and other amenities were also well maintained, clean, and enjoyable. My only disappointment was that the hot tub area was being sealed and stained so I was not able to use it for relaxation after busy days sitting in meetings for 10 hours straight. The location was great for exploring the diverse food options of Hell's Kitchen. It was also a short walk away from the theaters. My boyfriend and I really liked the modern look of the hotel as well as the comfortable bed. Beds in most hotels aren't that comfortable. As a strait couple we were grateful to be treated like everyone else. The Out nyc is truly a gay/strait friendly hotel. Design was amazing. A very chic place, a real sleeper. Value for money is incredible. Cold and sleety outside? There's a heated atrium with a view of skyscrapers through the glass ceiling, alcoves and two immaculate jacuzzis. Room is large by NY standards, bed large and comfy, great workout room, terrific restaurant, free wifi, and the most bend-over-backwards young staff. Stayed in the share room. Spacious, comfortable and private bed. Lockers had PLENTY of storage space for suitcases plus hanging rack and shelves. Separate toilet and shower were clean and tidy. Room serviced daily with clean linen and towels. Free wifi. Personal TV - seriously the most comfortable "hostel" type lodging I have ever stayed in. Will definitely return!!!. The hotel is perfect located and the staff are great, i specially know this because i had some personal issues with my credit card and they help me a lot, it is priceless when you travel by yourself find this kind of kindness :) i was in a sharing room but you have your privacy and space and my room mates were great anyway :) i will definitely come back here :). They have also a restaurant (expensive but with good service) and a nightclub. From the dormitory there is no loud music problem but I don't know about private rooms. Very friendly staff. The 4-bed dormitory had a bed more comfortable than many of the hotels I ever stayed at. It was hard getting up in the morning. The cabinets with individual locks makes storing personal belongings safe and convenient. A nice walk to Times Squares and a $8- taxi ride from ny Penn Station, so very well connected with the rest of the city. Fab place. Great rooms. Very contemporary but also very practical. Spa, Sauna & fitness centre were added bonus. Great location. Been to NYC approx 10 times over 20 years and this was best location and best value for money. Stay here! (there is a nightclub under the hotel - we requested a room away from club and didn't hear a thing). The value for the money was incredible; it was extremely clean and modern, centrally located, very safe, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, I loved all the ameneties esp the hot tub for my aching feet!! The conciereige got me an airporter and I even left my suitcase secured for the day after I had checked out. Definitely very good location, and friendly staff. From the concierge, to the valet everyone was very professional. The place was just a few blocks away from the Transport Authority Building, big plus! From the very beginning, making contact before our visit, to the very end at checkout, the Out Hotel staff was warm, kind, gracious, and accommodating. That it rained and we could only enjoy your cool outside sitting area the first day when the sun was shining! That said, on the rainy day we still enjoyed the jacuzzis which were dry under the glass roof. I take it back, There was nothing we did not enjoy!. That I couldn't stay another night!. They provide earplugs for rooms close to the XL Nightclub, which is housed in the same building. Sometimes you can feel the vibrations of the bass well into the wee small hours, but it isn't too much different than the normal traffic ambiance of the city. A few staff, especially in kitchen in AM. Didn't understand my time needs. Most of the staff were awesome. Loud club noise bothered roommate, but not me, (used to NYC). Nothing. Though a good idea, I wasn't too sure about the art work on display. It fell a little short of the theme and the ethos of the overall feel and design of the place; though themed, the execution seemed elementary to me. No complaints. -I was not advised about Incidental Deposit at check-in which was pre-authorised on my credit card. I would've opted to provide a cash deposit instead. -I stayed in a sharing room for a single bed and when you draw the curtain for privacy it was a bit warm and i could not feel the AC. This was resolved by keeping the curtains a bit open. -It was tricky going down the top bunk. A handrail, even on one side would've been helpful. The location is good (Midtown West), but is a little walk to the nearest subway station (Time Square). There's a big club right next to the hotel, so on weekends at night is very very noisy until almost morning. Even the walls at the bedroom were shaking. None. As mentioned, the hot tub area was undergoing routine maintenance. It has to occur sometime and, unfortunately, was during my trip. The room we were in was over or right next to the dance club. It was difficult to sleep during the early morning hours because the bass was playing until 4:30am. I recommend sound proofing all of the rooms around the club or providing sleep aids. My boyfriend and I had to purchase ear plugs and sleeping pills from the cvs on the corner to get some much needed rest after our long days of sightseeing. The shower area looked cool but it was a bit strange showering without a fully closing door. in room heat was noisy, like a jet engine. Slept in earplugs. Bathroom was small, and there's no closet--the bar where one hangs clothes is attached to the dresser, a nice modern unit but isn't long enough for a coat or a dress,hard to figure out what to do with them. a few hooks in the entry hall would solve this problem. Nothing!. The restaurant prices are quite high. Anyway, not too different from a good nyc restaurant. The ladder leading up to the top of the bunk bed is very steep and hard to get out of. My room window faced a busy street and I heard a lot of traffic-but hey its nyc- what hotel wouldn't have that?. Our room ended up being right on top of the night club. Also, because our room was on the "yard" area, it meant being open air. I am sure that is fun in the summer, but not so much on the winter. That said, the concierge took our feedback in consideration and assured us to contact him directly when we go back in order to make up somehow. It was still a nice experience. I wish the spa was not free' so that the visitors who do not want to use such an opportunity would not pay for it indirectly as it is indirectly included in the price of stay.. The heating fan was superloud. There was a gap between the door and the reveal where cold air came in. One little moan was that we we charged $8.57 for two teas to take up to the room at the end of the day. the temperature in the room was way too cold - the floor was freezing - and the AC made a lot of noise! (maybe there was a way to control the temperature but I did not find it and since it was a room of four I guess I did not try too hard not to impose on the others) bathroom does not have a door and the water did not warm up (my shower was freezing cold). Amazing customer service from the young girl and older male on the front desk although cant say the same about the younger guys...every time I said hello, morning or afternoon I never once received a response. Customer service is an important part of any hotel and pretentiousness and/or arrogance needs to be left at home. Guests should not feel invisible to front desk. Nothing to complain about. High price. The shower water doesn't get very hot. Also the hostel is a bit far from the subway station. Check-in time is too late (4 pm). I didn't like that I had to leave so soon . No coffee maker in room, no iron or ironing board in room (which is definitely needed if you are in nyc on business) like I was. Also the shower leaks everywhere, the water goes all over the floor. I also disliked the big bottles of toiletries that the hotel charges you if you take. Come on this hotel is designed for the gays, we love our little toiletries lol. I've stayed at The Out twice now, and literally have no complaints (though I do understand the complaints about the noise level at times, if your room is above the nightclub... Didn't bother me much, though). We would have loved some tea and coffee making facilities in our room and the quality of the food for room service was a bit poor . The only negative thing I can say is that the bathroom shower has no full door which makes it difficult to shower. Awesome tip though, you turn the fan off in the bathroom and it will keep the steam in. The other negative thing is the lighting is slightly dimmed and the lamp tables by the bed are covered with dust. clientele in front bar were a bit drunk and unpleasant, but that's not your fault:-) Not gay enough, considering the name!. Nothing. There is a night club, making the hotel a hot spot, but sometimes noisy, but it was bearable. The sound from the street and the club next door (I bring ear plugs as I know to expect this - it is not too much of a concern for me). I am unsure if all the windows are double-glazed, which may help with this. The price for cab to airport when i checked out. - That i wasent informed about the middle-aged chinese man who moved in the night before i had to check out. The noisy and smelly non-stop traffic at the back of the hotel. Some equipment didnt' work e.g. bed lamp, toilet light. Hope and that the management will continue maintaining the facilities up to a certain standard. If so, quite happy to return to stay at this establishment. Had dinner at KTCHN for second time. Food good, but very overpriced even by NY standards. Three tiny scallops over risotto for $22 steep by any standard. Service was also spotty. Look forward to staying at OutNYC again, but will dine elsewhere. The bed was lower than what I like, and even though it was softer than what I like also, it was comfortable. The shower needed a curtain and I would prefer a hand held shower head.
