  Me and my friend traveled down for a wedding and choose this hotel by luck. I'm glad i did and i would definitely come back and use it again and again. Robert who i believe was the owner was only happy to help very welcoming and his staff were just as nice. The hotel room was lovely and clean, comfortable bed, delightful bathroom. Spacious rooms and bathrooms, and tasteful decor in a lovely old building. Breakfast was delicious, and wish we'd tried the restaurant in the evening, the pizza looked amazing. Great location in a lovely seaside town, will come again!

  The hotel is in a gorgeous old building in a quiet neighberhood a bit away from the city. It has the hallmarks of past elegance but is showing its age. However, for cyclist weary from a long day on the road, we loved its lack of pretension. We had a huge room with a gorgeous view over the river. Depending on weather, seating was either outside on a patio or inside full glass, but both were overlooking the garden and the river. It was - The location within yards of the South West Coastal Path. Main bus route at the end of the road. Just a short 1/2 mile walk along the path opposite the hotel to the centre of Bideford. Breakfast was very good, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Cycle hire on the Tarka Trail in approx 1 mile away. The view from the bedroom and dining room over the fiver was superb.

  Staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and courteous - they seemed happy to be working there. The house and rooms were beautifully decorated and clean and comfortable as well. The breakfasts were really good as well. Location was good, close to High Street and the Cathedral. A wonderful stay and would most certainly book there again. - Ever... what people say » ything ! The hotel is really nice, well decorated, the room really comfy. The bed was so good i wish i had not had to go working. The fresh fruit salad at breakfast is heaven. The owners are charming and welcoming. I enjoyed my stay (2 nights) very much and recommend this hotel to anybody who want to be pampered.

  I see that others have complained about the windows. We stayed during an Atlantic gale and the windows were completely soundproof. The staff are bright and cheerful and the carpark is massive.   We had a super room overlooking the river, the room was very comftable with arm chairs, tea/coffe making facilities, super large bed.The web site did not do this hotel justification we thought it was very good value for money and the evening meal we had was superb, would recommend this hotel to anyone. - as above plus great staff, very helpful.
