  Me and my friend traveled down for a wedding and choose this hotel by luck. I'm glad i did and i would definitely come back and use it again and again. Robert who i believe was the owner was only happy to help very welcoming and his staff were just as nice. Spacious rooms and bathrooms, and tasteful decor in a lovely old building. Breakfast was delicious, and wish we'd tried the restaurant in the evening, the pizza looked amazing. Great location in a lovely seaside town, will come again!

  The hotel is in a gorgeous old building in a quiet neighberhood a bit away from the city. It has the hallmarks of past elegance but is showing its age. However, for cyclist weary from a long day on the road, we loved its lack of pretension. We had a huge room with a gorgeous view over the river. Depending on weather, seating was either outside on a patio or inside full glass, but both were overlooking the garden and the river. It was - The location within yards of the South West Coastal Path. Main bus route at the end of the road. Just a short 1/2 mile walk along the path opposite the hotel to the centre of Bideford. Breakfast was very good, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Cycle hire on the Tarka Trail in approx 1 mile away. The view from the bedroom and dining room over the fiver was superb.

  Staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and courteous - they seemed happy to be working there. The house and rooms were beautifully decorated and clean and comfortable as well.   We had a super room overlooking the river, the room was very comftable with arm chairs, tea/coffe making facilities, super large bed.The web site did not do this hotel justification we thought it was very good value for money and the evening meal we had was superb, would recommend this hotel to anyone. - as above plus great staff, very helpful.
