Staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and courteous - they seemed happy to be working there. The house and rooms were beautifully decorated and clean and comfortable as well. The breakfasts were really good as well. Location was good, close to High Street and the Cathedral. A wonderful stay and would most certainly book there again. Everything ! The hotel is really nice, well decorated, the room really comfy. The bed was so good i wish i had not had to go working. The fresh fruit salad at breakfast is heaven. The owners are charming and welcoming. I enjoyed my stay (2 nights) very much and recommend this hotel to anybody who want to be pampered.

Conveniently close to the city centre. Proves the advantage of staying in a small hotel rather than a large hotel that is one of a large chain. I was pleasantly welcomed and treated very well!! The guest house was very clean and inviting.All the lounges looked very comfortable and the garden layout was excellent. I enjoyed my stay there and I would go back again !!. Very high standard. Pity I was given a room without en-suite [room 6]. The manager apologised I had been shown the wrong room, and should have had [room 3] which was bigger and with en suite. Breakfast was the best!. As we often find, hoteliers do not seem to realise that many guests like to read when they are away for a relaxing weekend. There was only one central light and one bedside lamp in the room, both of which were rather dim. I had to resort to bringing a torch in from the car in order to read.Bedside lighting next to four poster bed which made it tricky to read inbed. We discussed this with the owners and they plan to improve this. There was a shower in the room, but the toilet was just outside. Although I knew that before I had to substract one point for that.Parking was limited. The toilet was not in the room although the shower was. The washing drying on the line in the garden didn't particularly encourage us to sit out. I thought the information about where to eat was poor. We know about restaurant chains and dont particularly like noisy ones so an authentic Exeter dining place would have added to the stay.
