    We were greeted by a very friendly man who couldn't do enough for us. He allowed us into our room much earlier than usual as we wanted to get ready for a wedding nearby. The room was lovely, clean and had all the necessary bits and bobs we needed (including a hand-held magnifying mirror!). Would recommend this hotel to others. - A lovely inn with good, clean rooms and a good sized ensuite bathroom ..and, at times, a working TV... sinceours didn't work!. However, everybody pulled out all the stops to get the TV in working order; alas, it was not to be. We were offered free drinks as compensation in the pub, which we appreciated very much. Other than this amusing story, we had a great time in this lovely place and would definitely go back!

    yself and my husband and another couple stayed 1 night and chose this hotel due to the location - close to seascale but the location was beautiful the bar was a typical country inn type, the staff friendly, food was good & the Kamikazi real ale went down well. We love Country Villages we would definitely stay again. - We wanted a real good value pub as a walking base for the weekend, we found one right in the middle of the lakes. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us - big thanks. The food was straightforward, good quality and great value. The beer was exceptional and again great value. We loved all the fires and so did our dogs. The rooms we ok, nothing special, but clean and comfortable. We will be returning again.

    Staff very friendly, location was excellent. Found the room very comfortable and clean. I wish I could have stayed longer. Best breakfast I have ever had - Lovely setting,staff helpful and friendly,food excellent and dog friendly. Lovely relaxing place to stay and only a 10 minute walk from Grasmere.

    The Swinside Inn is set among the magnificent Cumbrian mountians. The views from our 'Catbells' room were stunning. The room was well presetned with modern decor throught, a modern en suite shower/bathroom, comfortable bed, ample wardrobe/drawer space and ample tea/coffee facilities. The evening meal was fairly basic and fitting for a countryside ... what people say » Inn it was tasty with good size portions, as was the full English breakfast. From the moment we arrived to the time we left we were impressed with the - Location excellent..in a quiet valley about 5 km from Keswick, a tourist center. No other buildings around except for the Inn. I could hike into spectacularly rough mountains in 5 minutes by foot from the inn. Nice log fire, lovely and warm in the rooms. Each room is slightly different. The one known as Causey Pike has massive windows towards the mountains. Food was fine, and breakfasts were hearty with everything one could think of.

    The inn was as described. Staff were friendly, efficient and accommodating. The food and real ales were excellent. The pub had a very good local atmosphere. Very convenient for touring the lake district, a car is necessary to get from Bouth however you only have to drive 10 minutes to lakeside where the Windermere Ferries depart from. Short - The hotel was a welcome sight in a beautiful location after a 2 hour drive from the Midlands. It provides an excellent base for touring the south lakes area, and access on to the coastline. The hotel provides great food (evening and breakfast), comfortable rooms and friendly welcoming staff. As a family of 4, we had an entertaining evening in the pub with a nice meal. Family friendly and easy to find. Would highly recommend.

    Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Had a great night sleep in comfortable room. Breakfast very good. Token given for parking which allowed us to park beside Guest House. As there was a mixup with the booking the people at the guest house simply adjusted it to match our needs. Loved that staff was firendly and made us welcome. They even kept pur belongings safe the next day, after check out while we were in town. Really nice breakfast as well. Would love to go back if in the area. Good value for money.
