    The staff were the most friendliest people we have ever come across! The rooms were spotless! The location was ideal for walking in the town of Ambleside and to get a boat ride to the other locations such as bowness. Parking arou - The spotless room, it was ever so comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious! Plenty of choice. Ola and Peter were exceptionally friendly and cheerful and really made you feel welcome. Loved the complimentary bottle of water and biscuits that we received in our room on both days we stayed. Location is great, it is in walking distance of all the shops in Ambleside. We did a lovely walk to Grasmere while we stayed there.     The friendly owners Geri and Trevor made us feel so welcome, from the moment we arrived. They were happy to help us in everyway to ensure our stay at Brierholme was enjoyable. We requested a room with a view and we were allocated room No. 7, which was at the back and had a nice view over their garden and a distant fell. We appreciated the two complimentary bottles of drinking - The hosts Gerry & Trevor were very welcoming and always happy to help and advise on trips/days out/walks etc. offering plenty local knowledge which was very helpful. The whole B&B was spotlessly clean with added extras in the room eg bottled water, cotton buds, tissues. Breakfast offered a wide choice from fresh fruit and cereal to a full english and it was all fresh and delicious.

    Before our arrival Ethna the owner contacted us by email, allowing us to check in earlier than the 3pm stated on their website. The location is fantastic, easily accessible by car, with a reserved parking space included in the price of the room. It is set away from the main roads that run through Ambleside, meaning you have little to no vehicles ... what people say » passing during the day or night which is a bonus. The town centre is easily accessible from a few different paths and staircases that lead straight in - We hadn't stayed in a B and B before but this was one of the most wonderful experiences from start to end. Ethna welcomed us very warmly and made us feel at home throughout our whole stay. Ethna is very friendly, with a lovely sense of humour as well as being very knowledgeable and helpful about the breath-taking surrounding area.     We found this delightful place very near to the village center. The owner and her daughter were extremely polite, caring and helpful, on our arrival they had provided us with loads of guides and plenty of info for our hiking trip across and around the lakes. And breakfast every morning was something to look forward to at this place, most attentive... what people say » indeed. We highly recommend anyone to try them. P.S. Loved the 'honesty box/drawer', where you were asked to leave 50 pence for any mineral water bot - We had room 3 with the 4 poster bed, it was soooooo comfortable! Diane the b&b owner was very hospitable, she tailored our stay to meet our needs, my friend left her electric cigarette charger at home so Diane let us use her personal computer to charge it. Also, when we got there Diane had left leaflets and a map on our bed, this helped so much during our stay. The breakfast was nice and the location is perfect, a 5 minute walk in to the village of windemere and a 20 minute walk to bowness
