    We went to Port Wenn and left Port Isaac. For us it was the quintessential Cornish Port town - so much more than what is portrayed on the show. The location of the Slipway is, oddly enough, across the lane from the slipway which means you get to wake up to the sound of the sea and its gulls which is what you would expect from a seaside holiday. We enjoyed the locals c - The hotel lies in the harbor in Port Isaac (as shown on the tv show Doc Martin) . The village is very quaint and picturesque The hotel was small and comfortable. The view of the harbor from the balcony in our room was wonderful, The breakfast was outstanding and the hotel main menu was very good. The owners and staff were very friendly and professional.

    We booked a suite and it was worth every penny, great views great room great breakfast. We had a swim and had the pool to ourselves its a little dated and in need of some TLC but you would have to be a real winger to complain about this detail. The lifts worked fine but we opted to walk up the tastefully decorated stairs. The staff were very helpf... what people say » ul at all times I guess if your polite to them then they respond well that is human nature if your rude then I guess you will get ignored. Breakfast - Stayed for a weekend in February 2013 and we enjoyed every minute. Hotel very welcoming, clean, nice and warm. Restaurant is mega quirky and a joy to relax in. Leisure area utilised, sauna excellent combined with dips in the pool (Which was a bit fresh!) The breakfast was - delicious. Plenty of choice to be had both hot and cold. All in all a very enjoyable, relaxing stay and we will book again without hesitation!

    The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable; we also had a great view from our window. We enjoyed perfectly cooked breakfasts from a dining room with a beautiful view over the beach and harbour. The hosts, Brian and Julie were very friendly and welcoming.     lovely hotel with exceptionally friendly helpful staff.Position close to beach in a nice quiet spot no road noise whatsoever. Room was big and breakfast was plentiful - everything, excellent stay, great surroundings, good food, friendly staff, very clean and reasonably priced.Plenty of sight seeing to do.

    Almost everything. The room (Room 2)was spacious with more than ample storage for all our clothes. The view from the room overlooking the sea was absolutely amazing. Our hosts were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The portions and content of the breakfast was all one could ask for. The views spectacular. The facilitites comfortable, well maintained and the decor exquisite. Having the opportunity to choose a breakfast that is freshly cooked was wonderful. An extremely pleasant experience. The location over looking St Michaels mount and the proximity to town and public transport is also a bonus.

    We paid £85 for a double room and breakfast which seemed very reasonable and for this price we were more than happy to be offered an inland facing room. We were very pleased to be given a beautiful room with fabulous estuary views.     We were made to feel so welcome, the room was excellent and thebreakfast even better. We had no problem useing our card to pay andfound no problem with parking - I travel a lot for work and chellowdene was one of the best guest houses by far friendly, clean and a great breakfast. i found no problem parking

    2** rating... not really.. like all the other reviews it was more like an easy 3***. The food was well...... simply excellent, and while i was sitting in the lounge enjoying my point looking through a huge glass window at the sea, the view was stunning.....A perfect relaxing evening to an otherwise busy day....3*** ... yes.... 3*** service at ... what people say » 2** prices.. well pleased.....     I liked the fact that the 'standard' room provided a view and a Queen sized bed. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were cotton - always a good sign. - The general ambience of this hotel is based on a peacefull quality stay.We have stayed there before and will go again. Very nice walks.

    The location of the hotel although being outside the main centre of newquay was ideal as Tolcarne beach was on the doorstep. On arrival we were allocated room 9 which is probably the pick of all the rooms due to the lovely balcony overlooking Tolcarne Beach. The hotel is spotless, as are the rooms with soft clean white towels and comfy beds.     Our room was very clean and whilst not too large it suited us well enough. Lovely bathroom and shower. There was a wide selection of food for breakfast: yoghurt, fresh fruit, preserves, cereals, toast and cooked. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.     Hazel was the perfect hostess. Nothing was a trouble, great advice on local walks etc, including maps & notes ( prepared by hotel). Breakfast was excellent, cooked to order. Room lovely. We stayed in room 1, in main building, great aspect, opened on to balcony with access to garden. Lovely guest lounge & bar area. Superb stay in tranquil g... what people say » arden setting. And to top it off, the evening meals were outstanding, presentation & service amazing, new menu each night, with at least two fish - The service was superb and nothing was too much trouble. For example -asked for warm milk for coffee on first morning and this choice was remembered each succeeding morning. Local walks were helpfully printed for us. Both my wife and myself remarked that there was no cooking smell at mealtimes. The room was spotlessly maintained each day and used tea and coffee sachets replaced with same. We ate twice in the restaurant, the first time being for our 50th wedding anniversary and enjoyed beautiful
