I liked the fact that the 'standard' room provided a view and a Queen sized bed. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were cotton - always a good sign. The general ambience of this hotel is based on a peacefull quality stay.We have stayed there before and will go again. Very nice walks.The reception, the room, the breakfast (apart from the service (see below), the site, the view.

Otherwise all was very well.parking. Car parking could be difficult, but understandable due to location. Loved the hotel. My sister thought the bar itself could do with updating. Inadequate parking on site. Location up steep hill was fine for us but could be a problem for older or less mobile guests. oover an hour wait while breakfast was cooked. A little disorganised at breakfast - some staff training needed. Rooms were very hot - think the radiators in the hallways were on so quite warm at night. And the drainage outside was a little 'niffy' !. Difficult parking/ price of set dinner. Car parking is stressful! And even more because our booked space was not identified when we arrived although the matter was sorted out very promptly. Lack of owner / manager presence - staff were very good but there was no obvious manager / proprietor presence to give that extra welcome and assurance.The room was smaller than expected and so not particularly good value for money. 1) Car parking charge of £15 per day was too much (£5 would be reasonable) 2) Lift was not working (we were on 3rd floor!). Parking was a problem if not booked in advance and expenasive relativeto other hotels and local parking costs. Having to leave!. Fabric headboards are not very hygenic. (room 107). A King size bed would have been appreciated and there was ample space in the room to accomodate one.Parking very limited, not able to book a reserved parking bay, and although public car park was close this would have been poor if the weather had been bad. As it was it was glorious but.Also rooms dated and windows not double glazed. Again weather was glorious but in November.......... resturant food not up to expectations. Car parking charges. the room looks a little tired, no fridge or drinking water in the room, they messed up with my morning papers, poor parking and what there was is too expensive. car parking was a big issue. we were not made to feel very welcome. bathroom too small, room noisy. The spa wasn't working and for the price I payed the room everything should have been perfect or at least get a discount... And I book my dinner in the evening and when I got there my name wasn't on the list... It took them only 10 min to give me a table but still..... The hotel is over priced for the quality of room, the breakfast service was poor, the lift didn't work, there was a constant noise from the kitchens A/C unit and the staff entrance, the bedding was stained and they charge £15 a night to park on waste land.

The restaurant has retained the AA Rosette award for exceptional food since 1997. The menus offer a choice of dishes using the best of seasonal Cornish produce, skilfully prepared by an experienced team led by Mark Griffiths. An extensive wine list compliments every menu. Travelling information

On entering Fowey, continue on the main road leading into the town. The road will bear to the right (signposted Fowey Hall, Hotel and Restaurant). Do not take this road but indicate left and take the road down into the town, then take the next right (signposted Fowey Hotel). Continue along this road for approx 200 yards. The road will bear to the right, and you need to take the driveway on the left (sign posted The Fowey Hotel Reception). Pull up to the entrance of the hotel unless you see your reserved parking space.
