An excellent experience and this what a hotel should be like. Staff is excellent and never experienced better treatment even from higher starred hotels. Very friendly and helpful people. Rooms are bit small but travelling from USA to Europe, that is the norm. However you will forget about the smaller sized rooms after the way the hotel treats you. Excellent and would stay again whenever back in London. Location is very close to train station to train ride to central London very convenient. Bre.
all reviews » The service was brilliant. It was the staff who made our stay so enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble. They thought of everything including sweets on the reception desk. The staff in the breakfast room were superb. Quickly clearing and cleaning tables thoroughly. So friendly and helpful. There was free parking which was important to us too. The price was excellent and had great transport links in to London. It's perfect for the business traveller and for couples wanting to save a few quid, but retain comfort of a clean and tidy room. Free parking was a bonus. Staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of food and drink to suit all. Nice, comfortable room with en-suite, flat screen tv and tea and coffee provided. Location close to Ilford train station which we were using to travel to a concert. Excellent English breakfast the next morning with a full range of other choices available including cereals, toast, yoghurt, fruit, jams, fruit juice etc as well. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, well arranged and good size. The bathroom can look a bit tiny but they did a great job furnishing it and it feels perfectly fine once you are in the room. I really love this place and will go back there without a doubt. Initially we were put into a very small room with no window and a skylight in the ceiling. We complained to reception an we were immediately changed. Might be hard/long to move around without a car/taxi. The wall are thin but didn't hear anything during the night so slep like a baby :). Nothing to not like there!. no complaints!. very small breakfast area was a problem for people arriving after we did, there was no room for the number of people staying. couldn't get a bottle of water = had to go out to find a shop and had elderly Mum with me. A bar would have been good. I have nothing negative to say about the hotel. The lack of parking space,the walking up mega stairs to get to room.the waiting for breakfast and the lack of variety.maybe as it was busy food must have run out. The rooms were rather small. * Too small rooms * Ilford is not very clean, full of yelling drunk people in the nights. The room could have been a bit larger. As the room was on he ground floor at the front, the curtains had to be kept drawn and the lights kept on as there were no net curtains at the window. Nothing really just the breakfast is cold sometimes ~ I love my food hot. Housekeeping linen on the corridor floor. This was clean linen and dirty linen just mixed together. Breakfast was ok BUT no bacon! some sort of processed ham.... yuk!. Breakfast was hectic, nowhere to sit....too busy. I didn't like the fact that the room was very cramped in size, very limited space to move around. Not applicable. Quite noisy at night Staff could just about keep up with breakfast service as it was very busy. parking was a bit limited. nothing. No complaints. The breakfast was lovely however would of like real bacon. Room smelling of smoke. No hot water on second day. Breakfast Disappointing. shower to small. I was in room 6 downstairs and unfortunately the guest above was very noisy throughout the whole night. Sounds from adjacent rooms could be heard as partitions are not soundproof. The fact that the hotel does not have a concierge was a disappointment. We had to cross the road to the main hotel reception/dinning to have breakfast, which was not too convenient. I also believe the price could still be a bit lower. There was no bacon for breakfast and the tea was stewed in a container. Room service non attended against complain of leakage in window. Had to change rooms after first night. We were beside the door where everybody entered & our bedroom wall was a partition. We were kept awake all night. Breakfast was 7-10am. On the day we were leaving we were rushing & were told at 7 we could not eat for at least 40mins. Appalling sound insulation, no hot water, no heating, external door formed part of my window, vending machine just outside the Room door, poor/lack lustre response to complaint, my room was in a "separate wing" on the oter side of the road to the hotel!!. 2 of the worst nights' sleep anywhere - noisy, fire alarm at 5.30am, crashing of kitchen pots....... a twin of 3.5x3meters totally, with inside the toilette of 1,25x1,25mt is a fraud. Holding money on your bank card for pre authorisation, then charging the card for your room on check in, then not releasing the funds on your card till 1 week later. Meaning for 7 days, the room cost double what it should be.....bizarre!!. I have no negative remarks at all. Room tiny, bathroom too cramped; Wifi didn't work reliably and when I reported this to reception the staff there seem disinterested; no air-conditioning; noise from people talking outside room until late at night; kitchen noise from about 6 a.m.; breakfast average - bacon terrible; not an attractive neighbourhood. It was a v hot day, and there was no fan or air system, so had to leave our room soon after 4 hours. Not happy at all.cudn't stay in that conditions. We called the staff 3 times,but she didn't come.
