Hosts willing to offer advice and support regarding Edinburgh attractions and transport. location - close to city in a quiet street. comfy bed, nice room, quiet location. Location and clinliness. Had loads of tour brochures in the guest house, so that you can leave your hotel with a planned tour already in hand for the day. Quite room to the back of the property overlooking the garden. Close to main bus routes for all parts of Edinburgh. I can't say what I liked most, because there is nothing good to say about the hotel: 1.first of all, the owner after booking the place in the hotel sent me email, asking no to come earlier that 10 a.m. 2. Owners are not hospitable 3. when we wake up at the daytime it was freezing in the room, the heating system was switched off. No complaints!. Attic room was very small (well sufficient for two). Breacfast was only served between 0800 and 0845, would have been better if service was extended to 0930.parking v difficult- not a good choice for anyone with a car. A bit overpriced for the quality of the room and having stayed at better BandBs for less money. Fair walk into town and places and no parking.TV is old-fashioned. No sat tv and mounted too high on wall, check out before 10am,breakfast 8-8.45am,. Cooked breakfast. Breakfast time was inflexible (only 0800 - 0845).Overpriced. Breakfast only between 8-8.45am. Grumpy staff, not very approachable. Didn't feel very welcome. Uncomfortable bed, shared toilet/shower.The private bathroom was not adjacent to the room. The bed mattress was hard as rock and lumpy. By Road from City by-pass (A720) Take A702 towards City centre, from Bruntsfield Place (A702) turn left into Viewforth-Hartington Place 2nd. on left. From Airport; Airport bus to City centre, then Taxi or bus as from Waverley Station.
