    This is how a hotel should be, room service, polite and helpful staff, clean, comfortable and tasteful decore. The breakfast was amazing too- huge choice in a buffet style- but with a waitress bringing you fresh toast and tea or coffee. I would make this a 4 star + at least.for an extra £15 per night you can upgrade to their top room - excellent ... what people say » value for money, friendly and helpful staff and a lovely relaxing atmosphere.     We were visiting uni for my daughter and wanted to be out of the town. Lovely setting, peaceful area. Warm welcome from the owners, tea, homemade cake and a chat! Rm was amazing, spotless, very comfy, elegant. Included toiletries, fruit,homemade biscuits, dressing gowns and a glass of sherry in the room! Very tasty breakfast next day. The treble tile gastro pub served excellent food at good prices, great service and - Absolutely beautiful styling, really luxurious and impressive. Seeing a huge painting of Buddha on the back wall of the bedroom was one of those 'wow' moments that some of us pay the money for. Comfy bed. Freebies including free glass of sherry. Nice cooked breakfast. Fantastic. Having stayed in a few of them, guest houses don't get better than this, they really don't.

    Very pleasant stay albeit for one night only. Quiet location which was impressive. - Very, very comfortable bed. I think it is even better hotel than Marks Tey - less crowded during weekends.

    I stayed two nights in two different buildings. In the main building I like the ice-making machine and the fridge in the room. It was comfortable and convenient. In the annex my room was very comfortable and spacious (a family room) with a pleasant view over the town. There was a complimentary sherry, which I'm unsure whether I liked or not. The bathroom was - Good value relatively close to North Station. My room was upstairs and had nice view over allotments and trees. The whole place has been designed for practical travelers who don't want all the twee frue frue rubbish just a reasonably priced, pleasant place with good bathroom, to get a good nights sleep and collect oneself for the day ahead. I paid for the room only but the breakfast looked like good value and served in an attractive room. Good supply of tea/coffee/hot chocolate and nice touch w

    We have travelled a lot in our lifes and have stayed quite a lot in expensive hotels but we never felt so relaxed, happy and welcome and so spoiled like we have been here. We received a lovely warm welcome by Mr & Mrs Sexton, accompanied also upon arrival with a lovely tea and lovely homemade cake, this was extraordinarily nice compared to the... what people say » cold welcome you receive in hotels. Being our honeymoon we were both surprised by Mrs. Sexton who decorated our room with lovely wedding balloons and - Everything! Our stay at A Hideaway Retreat was perfect Gail and Richard Sexton were so obliging with any request. The best part was there lovely B & B happened to be right across the street from my Mother's home so her 88 birthday surprise went without a flaw. The Sextons were so accommodating. The price was right and our room was lovely and cozy, bed was super comfy with all the welcome amenities. Best part was we even had our private entrance to our room. I look forward to my next visi
