  The guesthouse is located in a nice part of Ayr, with shops and the beach just 5-10 minutes walk away. The house itself is nice. It's propably better suited for older travellers, but having said that, the owner made me and my two young children more than welcome. All in all you'll be hard pressed to find a better place to stay in if you visit Ayr, especially at these prices. - Helen , the owner of The Richmond made us very welcome . The guest house has a great location being in a quiet residential area but still close to the seafront ( 5 minute walk) and city centre. I was with a group of friends rather than family and the large rooms allowed us to relax .A welcome change from cramped hotels. The breakfast was fantastic. I cannot recommend this high enough if you are visiting Ayr.

  I loved the reception I received from the owners of the property, she knew I was going to a funeral the next day and offered to drive me to the church which she did as I did not know where it was. The house was amazingly clean and very quiet , the colleagues next morning were very accommodating and I would highly recommend this guest house to any... what people say » of my family and friends which I have already done. Thank you so much. - Everything!! We've never stayed in a b&b before, as we always travelling with a child. But The host, Liz, was lovely and very attentive. The decor was tasteful, and those beds, wow, sooo comfy. Highly recommend this place! PS! Check out the garden while you there!!

  Located very near the train station, so it was easy to walk to. Upon arriving we received a very warm welcome. We arrived a bit later in the evening and our host showed that he had been concerned about us and had attempted to contact us to ensure we were alright. They had all the comforts of home plus a tea and coffee set just - We have stayed in many places around and about and The Gatehouse has been one of those rated at the top of our list. Our room was light airy and relaxfu. It had everything you need and a very comfortable bed. Then view of The Isle Arran from our room was wonderful. The couple running the gatehouse are so very friendly they helped us plan our days out and when your strangers to the area a thumbs up of where to go is appreciated. The choice at breakfast time is well thought out we loved the break

  Beautiful house with lovely lounge to sit in. Charming large bedrooms with excellent, tasteful decor, couches and attractive en suites. Proprietors, Michael and Joyce, friendly and attentive.   This must b one of the best B and B's I have every stayed at and I would highly recommend it to anyone. The owners where very helpful and the rooms are completed to a very high standard. - My stay at the hotel was very enjoyable. host very friendly and helpful, room very comfortable and clean and well decorated.

  Clean everywhere. Good selection of breakfast. Ease of entry using keyafter late night out. Were able to accomodate me early in day so I couldsleep after early morning flight in to Prestwick - Very clean, friendly, tasteful decor, great breakfast! Couldn't find a single fault.
